  1. Re: Raidho X-1 distortion with Line Magnetic SET amp. Anybody?

OK, if that is the case then I have at least found some closure.
I do find X1 very very insensitive. Your estimation of less then 80db is totally possible.

I suggest Raidho taking out the "Though...
  2. Re: Raidho X-1 distortion with Line Magnetic SET amp. Anybody?

    Thanks KIWI.
Sonus Faber Guarneri Evo is rated only 86db(85db according to Stereophile test) at 4ohm. Surprisingly, even LM 210IA (300B 8W) can drive it to a satisfing level in my 4mx3m room.
  3. Re: Raidho X-1 distortion with Line Magnetic SET amp. Anybody?

Yes, I did. Every word of it.:snicker:

    Amplification:

    >50 W (Though we have seen excellent results with small tube amplifiers)
  4. Raidho X-1 distortion with Line Magnetic SET amp. Anybody?

Has anybody matched Raidho X1 with a SET tube amp?
Recently, I purchased Line Magnetic 210IA(300B 8wX2) and Line Magnetic AS-125 (211tube SET 18wX2) to just explore the tube world.
    Both amps work...

    Re: Accuphase A-70

    Hi Galactic
My room is only slightly larger than yours(3x4.2 meters).
The A-35 can drive SF guanerri evo very well, but less so with Raidho X1, which works better with the 300w ML 532H.
    So, maybe...

    Re: EVOs have arrived!

I happen to have Red Dawn LS connected to my EVOs. From CD to Pre to Amp to EVOs, the wires are Tye2,Red Dawn and Red Dawn.

    Re: Magico S1 mk2's - 2 way magic

I had to make a tough decision between S1 and Guarneri Evo about 2 month ago.
    They actually cost similar here.
I went for EVO for my small roombut am still thinking about S1 from time to time.

    Re: Rosso Fiorentino Volterra Review

So interesting because they have started marketing this brand recently here in China and struggled to find a suitable Chinese name.:D

Re: And you thought your room was small

Actually the room isn't that small. It's the giant speakers that makes the illusion.
Replace them with a pair of mini (eg ELAC 310 with port blocked) and such room will still deliver listening...

    Re: Raidho D3 Upgrade

    Great room and set up!
If,"The D3 has at least twice the resolution and dynamics of the C3", what would that make of my little X1.....feel like crying:huh:
  15. Re: Different speakers or just an unforgiving room?

I had the same problem with the vocal and a carpet between the speakers solved the problem mostly.

Re: What is the future of hi end audio?

When quartz watch was invented late 60s and early 70s, everybody thought there was no future for the high-end mechanical watches anymore.
Because they are beaten in every way technically.
    In fact,...

Mike,I've never owned Harbeth so I can't do any comparision.
For Spendor, I owned A6 and currently own 1/2R2(sub flagship model in the Classic range).

    Re: Just Arrived...

    Great speaker Zero!
Will we see a youtube review soon?
Harbeth and Spendor are often thought as direct competing brands but I guess Harbeth is more popular in North America.

I have a K5 and I turn it on typically 1 hour before listening, along with other components.
