Like any other media player it supports the audio devices you can connect to a PC.
Unlike most media players, it also offers NAA, Signalist own network protocol.

Re: HQPlayer - Better Than a $5,000 Upscaler?
I most of all wonder how this is going to work.
You have a media player, set it to up-sample, use a specific filter, etc and send this to your DAC.
Except in the rare case you have a filter less... -

Re: Sound volume level
Most media players allow you to apply ReplayGain: ReplayGain - Wikipedia
If you make random playlist, use track gain.
As Nicoff pointed out, it is digital volume control.
This won't do any harm. -

Re: The Truth about D/A and A/D conversion and Digital Media Primer
I wonder if this is correct.
Let’s assume we have a proper 24 bit recording with sufficient headroom.
The loudest a DAC can play is 0 dBFS
Assume 20 dB headroom so the loudest passage is -20 dBFS.... -

Re: The Truth about D/A and A/D conversion and Digital Media Primer
Small wonder as the dynamic range of plain 16 bit PCM is 96 dB.
This doesn’t mean that it is limited to 96.
Somebody mentioned Pacific Microsonics. They invented the HDCD
Indeed there are tricks... -

Re: Is Bluetooth just blurtooth?
It depends very much on the implementation.
Even with SBC (the mandatory codec) lossless transmission is theoretically possible but as nobody implements that, in practice it is high bitrate MP3 (320... -

Re: In terms of jitter; is femtoseconds superior and less jitter than a picosecond?
This I do think a nice comparison.

The ADI2 has a femto clock, the Pro not.
Indeed there is a measurable improvement in the jitter... -

The result of sample rate conversion will vary between devices depending on the algorithm...
