Re: As promised, live recording from my audio set up (same set up at Long Beach audio show 2022)
Hi, Alex. Good job grabbing the official? recordings for comparisions. An excellent reference for comparing our own recordings to the original or official release.
Not only does it help us... -

Understood about where you're coming from. Yeah, audio shows have an 83 or 86 db limit or they'll throw you out. But is that really high-end audio? I exhibited at a handful of shows back when my...

Understood. I'm sorry I was not more clear. Yes, I hopefully implied that this would include demo's. Not many are willing to test if their systems are capable of such feats. IOW, it kinda' cuts...

Hi, Spock. I kinda' think a bit opposite in this regard. I think a playback system's real potential for better or worse can be found in many a 40 or 50-year old... -

Re: Spock system (the importance of fine tuning)
I would certainly enjoy that possibility. However, it may not be so reasonable nor practical for you because I've two subwoofers where one only requires a 6ft PC but the other is about 5ft further...

Re: Spock system (the importance of fine tuning)
I'm sure that "cable merged with the amp" thing scared the hell outta ya for a moment. Too funny.
Well, you've got something going as I think some-to-many of your videos might substantiate.

Re: Spock system (the importance of fine tuning)
You seem to be onto some good stuff, Spock. And your videos are quite musical. Tell me, are you building your power cables for others? Others in the US? Can others audition your PC's? What is...

There really ought not be any reason for significant compromises unless one has a tendency to overly complicate matters. Then again, high-end audio has a tendency to... -
Re: JL subs
A few years ago JL was supposedly the cat's meow but since then, I've heard nothing but controversial things. I've got a pair of Rhythmik E15's ($1300 ea.) and thoroughly enjoy them - once dialed in...

Interesting, Mike. You seem pretty dogmatic in your post above. Which seems to be in direct opposition to this other rather dogmatic post of yours dated Oct 6, 2020 where you claim "it's all good",...

I disagree, especially with your sequence of events, but ok. Anything else to add before you can answer my question?

Seems like you're giving your endeavor some pretty good thought. Good for you... and us. :) And it's good to see you lean so quickly toward the electrical path.

Re: Building a high end system. Why? What is needed?
If I didn't know better, Spock, it seems to me they're all freely admitting they've little/no clue what it actually takes to assemble a truly musical high-end playback system.
If they did, I'm... -

Good points. Not that I've a dog in this scuffle, but Bob may in some ways or at some times be replacing a dealer for any given sale. Assuming Bob's cut is anywhere from perhaps 1% to 30%, doesn't...
