I like the Yamaha for what it is, a home theater reciever but doesn't have enough power to really make the Paradigms sing.
If I add an amp that will help but like you said a good preamp would... -

Thank you, that information is very relevant and to the point. I did not not know that my paradigm speakers benefit from higher current than higher wattage makes me wonder if a really good high...
