New Firmware for MSB Reference and Select
MSB just released a new firmware with zero information provided to the user, no change log, no communication, not even a vague description. @Mike, do you know what has been changed/fixed/improved for...

Nordost Valhalla 2 USB vs. Shunyata Omega USB
Has anyone A/Bed these two and can share some sonic character comparisons?
Yes cables are system and preference dependent, and yes nothing can replace auditioning in your own system, but in lieu... -

Re: Amplifier for Kharma dB11
I heard the Kharma Equisite Midi with the Conrad Johnson Gat 2 Pre and Art 300 monos at Capital Audio Fest, and it was one of the best systems I've ever heard. I would take that over the $1M VAC +...

Re: Boulder v Gryphon
Thanks Mike, I also love effortless dynamics and jump factor, sounds like Boulder is the ticket for that too. One other consideration is the Audionet Humboldt which is said to have the same...

Re: Boulder v Gryphon
Mike, appreciate you sharing your thoughts and experiences. Have you tried two 1160 in mono configuration? Is it a big step up in SQ vs. a single? How would a pair compare to a single 2160?

Re: Major impact expected: AudioNet Heisenbergs approaching
Apparently from all accounts the Humboldt is very close to the separates for a lot less money, and that would solve the preamp matching issue as well. It could be a less expensive way to evaluate...

Re: Boulder Amps
Mike, have you heard the 1161? How does it compare to the 1160 for a speaker that isn't power hungry?

Re: Boulder 1161
Picking this thread back up, has anyone spent some time with the 1161 and get a sense of how it compares to the 1160 and/or the 866?

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
