Re: Shunyata Launches - ALTAIRA GROUNDING SYSTEM!!
I'm an Australian dealer and have both a signal and chassis version for demo, as well as a full dealer kit of Alpha ground cables and tails. I think you'll find there are a few dealers with demo kits...

Re: What's your favorite small or bookshelf speaker?
You want fairly high efficiency for the 845s if you can. I've heard the Omegas (well the Alnico Monitor, i.e. single driver version of the one you pictured) and it's absolute heaven. That version...

Re: 30.2s?
The reason they did the 40.2 was because the original .1 was designed for studio use where lower frequencies are often more challenging, and so the bottom end was augmented. This made for a well...

Re: Esoteric N-05 vs K-01
Given the N-05 is basically a K-05x with streamer instead of transport, this is fairly high praise you give! I had found that the shift was about a level up, i.e. the K-07X sounded near the K-05 etc....

Re: Aurender N100H Review
Never tried it, I imagine it may connect to a database if connected to the internet, otherwise you'd have to do it manually. I think you'd be far better off ripping on your computer. I just mention...

Re: Aurender N100H Review
Most people don't realise that you can in fact plug in a USB CD-rom drive into an Aurender and rip directly. The cost is under $50 these days for a suitable drive. This is nice because you can then...

Re: Aurender N100H Review
Not sure why some people are trying to complicate this. I've always used iTunes to rip (AIFF format). It integrates perfectly with the Aurender. All you need to do is drop in the cover art file then...

Re: Aurender N10
There is never a correlation between storage capacity and sound quality. I'd struggle to fill a 2TB drive let alone 4, but you can always increase storage, plus in an external USB, or stream from...

Re: S5 spike
Good to know. I merely asked because most of your comments seem to be "Stillpoints claim" or "forum feedback suggests" etc, with the experience you've just described, I'm interested to hear what your...

Re: S5 spike
Wait....so have you actually used Stillpoints in your system or is all your feedback and advice to everyone based on third-hand information and Chinese whispers that you've read elsewhere?

Re: Talk me out of a devialet 200....
I would suggest a demo before making a purchase with the Devialet. I did this, and found that the amp was quite nice but the dac was not much chop. My Esoteric K-03 killed it. I'm surprised they use...

Re: First review of new ModWright PH150 reference tube phono stage
Have heard this phono, very smooth indeed, great soundstage and separation, and ultra quiet on the 100dB+ speakers being played!

Re: CH Precision vs. Soulution
I find CH to be more the more refined of the two, and the Soulution to be the more grunty and raw natured one. The S amp scales very well in the dynamics department but I felt didn't have as much...

Re: travertine pavers
Even though travertine (or is that limestone?) is beautiful, I'd only suggest using if you need to. Don't forget that the surface is hard and reflective, ie sound will reflect off it. So you may...

Yes but it can also be used underneath the record. It sits lower than the platter surface to allow this, and adds valuable rotating mass to the platter so is beneficial even in this position.

Agree with sharkmounth. If you must have 4 separate circuits, tell him they need to be IDENTICAL LENGTH RUNS to minimise the chance of a ground loop.
