Re: How do your packages get delivered?
USPS and UPS have both been great. FedEx likes to put my packages on the stoop of the summer cottage next door to me, notwithstanding that both properties are plainly marked. It's gotten to the...

When I decided I needed a good system and started auditioning gear about 8 years ago, I already had a sound in mind, and just trusted my ears to tell me when I had heard what I wanted.
Now to be... -

Re: Paradigm Persona 5F and 7F vs Salon 2s
Haven't heard the Personas, but when I was speaker hunting back in 2011 I did check out the Paradigm S8s. Way too tipped up for me.
That same day I heard the Salon 2s, and soon afterward... -
Re: Fuses
Quieter, more precise location of players in soundstage, more depth of soundstage, richer sound, more drive and detail in bass.

Re: Fuses
As the prevailing wisdom on Audiogon is to start with source and/or pre-amplifier, that's what I did. Can't say I've AB'd whether they do the most good in those components or the amps, but I can say...

Re: Star Sound Sistrum Apprentice Platforms
Robert has mentioned that the Rhythm platforms are more substantial - but I'm not a tech wiz and you'd be better off speaking to almost anyone else about how it is that they do what they do.

I have the Apprentice XLs under my monos and speakers. I found they made the biggest difference under the speakers, but they did have a quite noticeable beneficial effect under the amps as well. I...

The only other amp I've had in the house with the Revels is the Plinius SB-301. That was a damn fine amp too, pretty dynamic with great bass. The SL monos are better, but given the price disparity...

Neither really, I went with them based upon the available reviewer/user consensus that they tended to speed up attacks and leading edges, while also providing more detail and better decays.
