Re: Alpha v2 NR vs Sigma v2 NR

    Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Re: Recommendation needed - power distributor for single component

Gemini is intended to be a complete solution for headphone users. Should there be a need to later add an Altaira, the Gemini was probably not the best choice to begin with. Those conditioners that...

    Re: Shunyata EIGER

I’m sure most folks wish they could just buy an Everest and be done with it. Unfortunately many can’t afford that kind of outlay of cash at one time. Offering the Denali plus T2 makes it easier to...

Re: New SFPs in 'da house!

We each have different sensitivities to noise and our systems react differently to noise as well. I had one loaned out my spare 1324s and spare 1318s. He ended up preferring the 1318s and I believe...

Re: New SFPs in 'da house!

I have tried only the Finisar 1318 out of those you mentioned. It was awfully close to the Finisar 1324 but I thought the top end made the 1318 less of a good fit, but if I never heard the 1324, I...

Re: New SFPs in 'da house!

Yeah SFPs definitely sound different. At one time I used those Planet Tech SFPs you mentioned. They disappeared better than a few others I tried. I ultimately landed on Finisar FTLF1324P2BTL,...

    Re: Shunyata Typhon T2

I have not had a problem getting cords out. I believe doing a little wiggling can help work the cord out without putting too much strain on it.

    Re: Shunyata Typhon T2

The amp would have one additional cord between itself and the wall if plugged into the Denali (the umbilical). DTCD is most important with amps, plugging amps into the T2 would have an advantage. ...

    Re: Shunyata Typhon T2

I just had a look at your listing and that lead me to start reading the review link you included. Your listing price strikes me as a steal given what this thing can do. I hadn’t realized that QR/BB...

    Re: Shunyata Typhon T2

    Excellent point.

With power conditioners, Shunyata reached the point of maturity with the original Triton/Typhon. There’s been no having to start with a clean sheet to try to come at the...

    Re: Shunyata Typhon T2

That’s why I suggested you seek out reviews of the QR.

The key technology in each of the Typhons is the Noise Isolation Chamber (NIC). If you progress through the reviews you will find that...

    Re: Shunyata Typhon T2

A report on another forum was that the Typhon T2 came neck and neck with the Typhon QR. The retail on the QR was $9000 so that would suggest that the T2 at $5500 offers a pretty big bang for the...
  14. Re: Lots of Hats, Lots of Heart | Robert Harley tours Shunyata Research

Did you notice that they were elevating Omega speaker cables? Not much was said but I wonder if they are meant to ship with the Omega when they are released. Maybe they will work with other cables...
  15. Re: Plugging high-power MSB amps into Everest 8000

You did absolutely the right thing. Plugging an amp into the wall is only recommended when there are two separate dedicated circuits. Even in that case it's not always the case that running the amp...

Yup, 6 outlets. Per Caelin: "It will be positioned below the new Denali 6000/T v2 in performance and feature"

    Re: Shunyata 6000T v2

Yes likely the Noise Isolation Chambers (NIC). The original was in the Triton. The ferroelectric material in those chambers was made more effective so less of it was needed so the original Denali...

    Re: Shunyata 6000T v2

The Denali 6000/T v2 is essentially a tower version of the Denali 6000/S v2. The Everest will still be better.
  21. Re: Shunyata Omega Interconnects and Speaker Cables

It’s extremely rare to see reviews of cables that include meaningful measurements. These guys seem to have done exactly that:

Alpha Audio NET - Megatest speaker cables – real measurements,...

  23. Re: New Venom (or replacement to) line coming in 2021?

The PS10 is essentially a Venom NR V12 extension cord. If one needs more outlets than the Everest provides, this seems like a good solution. Shunyata used to recommend the model the PS10 replaced...

Re: Shunyata Launches - ALTAIRA GROUNDING SYSTEM!!

Yeah it sure looks that way. But do their enhancements make it into something better is the question. Not something to be answered in this thread so I’ll just leave it at that. Plus, if I was...

Excellent and very helpful report, Steve. Would you clarify though that you were specifically talking about signal grounding with Spectral? I can’t imagine that things would go amiss with chassis...
