unfortunately yes. but thats only because the $800 dac outperformed ones that cost more i have first hand experience with. i wont post names.

as i think caelin noted elsewhere, i found that the everest did not play well with any other tweaks. none. in every instance they compromised the everest's capabilities.

i had previously been using a hodgepodge of AC tweaks (PS Audio PS10 + 2 HF MC1 Pro Magnets + Add-Power Wizard + Akiko Corelli, the latter being the best of the lot).

two things:
A) my luxman separates do not have fuses (or ground lugs on the IEC for that matter) and
B) aftermarket fuses are very audible (none moreso than that in my PS10)

as an owner of the C/M900 combo, having used w/ both Wilson Sasha 2s and now Magico S7s, this combo is as plug and play forever as you're apt to find. they do nothing wrong and always sound wonderful...
