    Re: Done with digital

How about trying the denafrips DACs? They are all on the more organic side. People love them.

    Re: Reintroduction

Thank you. More similar than different. Both high efficiency designs for speakers. The Cornwalls have more transparency but I think the sugden / Cornwall synergy is responsible. Great match!

    Reintroduction

Hello all, re-introducing myself since I’ve been pretty inactive for a few years now. Didn’t quit the hobby just sort of slowed down. I’m a minimalist at heart so my systems now are all streaming...
  6. Re: Best Integrated Amp, New Or Used (up to ten years old) $1,500.00 Or Less - With A Warm Sound?

Exposure 3010. Sugden a21. Nad m2. Musical Fidelity m5si. All, of these can be found for around $1500 used and they all fit your needs based on my experience owning them.

    Re: Dynaudio Contour 60

Here’s a link to a dynaudio page stating 30 hours of break in: https://www.dynaudio.com/dynaudio-academy/2017/august/how-to-set-up-your-speakers

David Rossmann, My guess is that no one at...

    Re: Dynaudio Contour 60

I've purchased the following Dynaudios brand new: Excite X16, Contour S1.4, Focus 340, Confidence C1, Special 25, Excite 34.

I agree that many Dynaudio owners believe in long break in. But I...

    Re: Dynaudio Contour 60

Better than the alternative, sitting there thinking my ears are infallible and buying snake oil left and right. Besides, I’m not saying I know everything about acoustic science, I‘m merely saying...

    Re: Dynaudio Contour 60

While I agree that speakers are mechanical and that they could potentially change when they are very first put into use, I think it’s likely that that change would occur quickly and over a short...

Given your description I’d say they were broken. Your experience contradicts many professional reviews not to mention a substantial number of contour owners.

Re: New!!! Klipsch Cornwall IV .....

Well said! I own Cornwall IIIs and love them. I tried several amps with them including a Rogers tube IA but ultimately I found a musical fidelity m5si was a superb match. These speakers seem...

    Re: Dynaudio Contour 60

Understood and I can respect that you are genuinely describing what you experienced. It just seems very odd to me that a speaker can go from a 4 to a 10 in sound quality due to break in. Ultimately...

    Re: Dynaudio Contour 60

Wow, interesting thread. Going to throw my 2 cents out there since it's somewhat out of line with the general consensus. I personally put zero stock in long periods of speaker "break in". While I...

    Re: What is Really Important...

Hmmm...well, I don't think it can be distilled in such black and white terms. I think speaker placement, listener position, and room acoustics play a role, but for me, as long as those things are...

Thanks for the shout out. Well, I will say that the Aavik U300 is cool as Sh't! That is one sweet looking piece of technology. I'll also say that if I were going down the raidho route, the 2.1s...

Re: The best money I ever spent in audio is....

Without a doubt devialet. Dac, pre, amp all in one. Simplifies everything, eliminates many cables, sounds world class, is gorgeous, and costs less than anything it competes with.

Hello and welcome. Can you tell us about your system? And what kind of music do you love? What are your favorite artists?

    Re: Devialet Upgrade Processing Available

Looks like it was just a group of people listening blind and scoring the sound. Not what I would call a scientific test. If your ran the same test 10 times does anyone think they'd get the same...

AND I'm even MORE skeptical of a blind test. I have not read this report but if it was a group of people picking which sounds better, that is laughable. That proves absolutely nothing unless they...

    Re: Devialet Upgrade Processing Available

Personally I take those reports with a huge grain of salt. How much better can it really sound. The signal to noise ratio on the last gen is already vanishingly small. And by most reviewer accounts...

I agree with you guys, but it's not as much a no brainer for me. I've heard some incredible headphone systems and they crush a similarly priced bookshelf rig in terms of absolute sound quality. ...
