Re: Best vintage TT purchase option

The Dual's were really noisy and plastic, just like the BIC's. I would try and find an old AR or something similar.

I want to thank everyone who gave this a listen and especially thank those who purchased it on Bandcamp. I hope you are enjoying listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Re: Bob McNeice - 2020 Suite released October 1st

Thanks for listening guys. I would love some feedback on which tracks you really liked and why.

I expect we will be seeing a lot of "rememberance" albums before long as musicians have spent months...

Bob McNeice - 2020 Suite released October 1st

    Hello everyone,

I’m happy to announce the release of my first album “2020 Suite”. As you can tell by the name it is a compilation of songs written about the events of this past year. I know, I...

Re: Post Your past and present Guitar photos

So many of these are just works of art. Next topic ... post a video of you playing them!
  8. Re: 5 best power amps for $5000 to $12,500...including integrated.

I like my McCormack DNA500, it makes my Apogees sing beautifully (and can actually drive them unlike many others).

Re: Florida Audio Expo Pictures & Coverage

I spent some time in the Magico room. That was probably the best I heard Magico's sound at a show. I would have to say they pair well with the Luxman equipment Mike.

Wish I knew it was you when I...

Re: Florida Audio Expo Pictures & Coverage

Which room were you in Mike? I didn't know you had a room of your own or I would have said hello.

Re: Florida Audio Expo Pictures & Coverage

The Martin Logan room was unlistenable - too loud, sharp, brittle.

    MBL was awesome, as usual.

Volti, Border Patrol, TWL was as distinguished as ever at a show. Simply musical and engaging.

Poll: Re: Florida Audio Expo Dinner

I won't be staying for Saturday night. Is there also a dinner scheduled for Friday, as the poll would suggest?

Re: Where to place your best Power Cord?

It's been my experience, and others here have said much the same thing, that one particular brand/model of PC does not sound good everywhere. What works best on the amp is not necessarily best on the...

Re: what Phono stage do you using?

I started with something simple then graduated to a Hagerman Coronet that I built and upgraded myself. It was a wonderful project and I learned a lot.

Then I went to the big boy, the Hagerman...

    Re: VPI Titan has landed

Long ago I replaced my VPI rubber belt with silk string. Of course you need a speed controller to do this, because the diameter is different, but the resulting silence and improvement in sound was...

There was a good point made here about finding a speaker that is appropriate for the room, so I have to ask ... is this the dream speaker for our current room, or are we allowed to dream bigger and...

    Re: WHISK(e)Y!

Thanks for clearing it up for me. However, I still think of scotch, bourbon, rye and whiskey as separate things, not to be lumped into one category. When you say "whiskey" I definitely exclude scotch...

    Re: WHISK(e)Y!

I think I nee a qualifier here. When you say "Whiskey" I think of Crown Royal. Bourbon is far different to me, like Bullit and Jack Daniels and such. Scotch is more different stil, and I am...
  19. Re: Cartridge thoughts...specifically Lyra (Etna & Etna SL)?

The Lyra's all have a very similar house sound, you just get "more" as you go up the line. But of course, there is a law of diminishing returns. I have a Kleos and think that may indeed be the sweet...

Plenty of stories in the progressive rock genre

  21. Re: Question on the benefits of upgrading turntable/cartridge

On digital, there comes a price point where you are paying for name or a manufacturer's house sound rather than any kind of real improvement in...

    Re: Worlds most holographic speaker?

There's nothing quite like MBL's, or the new Muraudio, for presenting a full and believable soundstage in a big room. But you need to have everything they require, size of room, power to spare, great...
  25. Re: What's the best tube phonostage you've ever heard?

I heard the Zesto and it was nice, but overall I preferred my Hagerman Trumpet.
