Re: Nord One Up Ncore NC500 amps, Class D ready for prime time .....
They really do need a lot of run-in time in my experience. There is some variation in the first few hundred hours. I really do think they need at least 500 hours, and after that mine still sounded...

Re: Nord One Up Ncore NC500 amps, Class D ready for prime time .....
Thanks Jack! On paper the Raidhos shouldn't be too awkward but I think they do need a fair amount of power. I'm erring towards the Nords for that reason.

Re: Nord One Up Ncore NC500 amps, Class D ready for prime time .....
Has anyone heard Nord One Ups vs the various Job offerings? Two intriguing sets of good-value amps both getting rave reviews. I'm guessing it'd be more of a Class D vs Class A/B kind of comparison....

Re: Nord One Up Ncore NC500 amps, Class D ready for prime time .....
Cheers RV for the reply on Mono vs Stereo. I guess the only advantage for me with Monos would be to try each one on a separate dedicated mains spur just in case there's any cross contanimation. The...

Re: Nord One Up Ncore NC500 amps, Class D ready for prime time .....
Hi all, looking back through this extensive thread I can see someone asked the question I was thinking of asking but I can't see an answer. Has anyone had the chance to compare the One Up Monos...

I don't think I ran it non-stop but probably left it running overnight a few times. I came close to sending it back within the 10 day period I seem to recall as it seemed to sound quite bad after a...

Re: Totaldac D1 USB Cable
It does need a decent burn in. I listened to mine out of the box and it sounds good, then pretty terrible after a few days, then much better.

Re: Devialet PHANTOM Ships, Becomes Fastest-Selling Product in High-End Audio
I've heard them, fairly briefly. I have to admit I was a bit sceptical but they are very good, and pretty decent value for money considering the quality even thought it's beyond most typical home...

Re: Why is this forum so screwed up with an iPad
The scaling has always been odd for me with iPad/iOS/Safari too. I can see the 'Top Ten Stats' widget at the bottom might be causing width issues - possibly the horizontal rulers (or the whole thing)...

Great post Double-D. I find myself going through periods of silence more and more after getting a little bit too obsessive.

Re: Is America still just a B-Movie?
There appear to be some paradoxes in GSH's lyrics there which grind on me a little. He's nostalgic for some things - America being a producer and not a consumer, the days before Arab states...

Re: Regen, Wow!
Not used it with an Aurender but I briefly tried an Amber Regen (with supplied power supply) with a Melco N1A into a Devialet 200 and to be honest I felt it slightly worse. It was different but not...

Apologies - it is 'Hey Now'. I have the deluxe edition album, 16/44.1 I think there's a hi-rez version of the album out there too.

Re: Devialet 200...my impressions.
Dragging up the London Grammar 'Hey You' torture track again, I recently changed source from a Cubox to a Melco N1A. The track plays perfectly on my C-1.1s now!

Re: Devialet 200...my impressions.
I may try port plugs again but I generally find I don't like them. SAM limits the cone movement to 5mm in the case of C-1.1s so that's why I'm a little surprised it's just as bad, if not worse with...

Re: Devialet 200...my impressions.
Raidho and Devialet is a great combination IMHO and my speakers are keepers, until I can afford to upgrade and it would almost certainly be to other Raidhos. I must try Ansuz. I'm still using my...

Re: Devialet 200...my impressions.
Going back to Raidho C-1.1s - the London Grammar 'Hey You' track is the only track I've ever had any problems with. In two years I've not heard port chuffing or anything negative. I was surprised to...

Re: Devialet 200...my impressions.
Yes, the track is a killer! It's quite an impressive sounding death rattle from the speakers about a minute or slightly more in. I've heard this track on a friend's Sasha 2s so know just how low it...

Re: Devialet 200...my impressions.
Rather disappointingly I'm getting some severe cone breakup with that track and my C-1.1s with a Devialet 200. Strangely it's actually worse with SAM enabled than disabled (at the same volume).

Re: Jeff Rowland Continuum S2 Integrated review by Roy Gregory at TheAudioBeat.com...

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
