    Re: Favorite Two Way Speakers

Holy crap living in the shadows of the Summer of love. Forget the speakers, everything was two-way then. Wish I was there!!!!!!

    Re: I'll Never Retire...

I am 55 and have absolutely no trepidation about selling my business as soon as I bag a few more of the opportunities I see to maximize its value and then doing everything in my power to get as bored...
  3. Re: Is Audioshark the most civil audio forum out there?

Great forum. Some good, smart people. I consider myself fortunate to be a member. My only complaints are two (all completely imo of course):

    1) There is a wide crevasse between the incivility that...
  4. Re: Devialet mercilessly beats Magico into submission

Um excuse me, are you implying that anorexic people who think they are fat are not indeed fat? That sounds like bigotry. Shame on you Mark. You are not my friend anymore.
  5. Re: Devialet mercilessly beats Magico into submission

I thought bullying was frowned upon these days.

    Re: Regenerators vs. Conditioners

As the measurements below indicate the cleanup of common and differential mode line noise is within the margin of error of the measuring device (i.e., immeasurable). I would suspect both units do a...

    Re: Regenerators vs. Conditioners

Ok, well in that case, I take everything back I said about Ralph being a smart guy.......seriously though, I wonder to what extent he was evaluating the NBT technology and a wall mount versus the...

    Re: Regenerators vs. Conditioners

Ralph Karsten is one smart guy and I agree with his comment I put in bold above. These units are very similar to what Torus does with NBT in their wall mount units to isolate, regulate voltage and...

Re: Alpinist (Ken) - how is your new system?

Awesome Ken! I am really happy for you. Can't wait to hear more but its cool if you do nothing but eat, sleep and Vandy for the next few days.

True dat. That might be the highest input impedance I have ever seen. If you want a tube pre it may not get any better. You could drive that with a flashlight bulb.

    Re: Furutech Nanoflux

Thats pretty cool. How does it work? I have heard the Shunyatta and Ansuz plug-ins are good but I have never really understood how they work.

Also, while Pitman only saw a "little" radiated EMI...

    Re: Furutech Nanoflux

    A couple of thoughts:

I look to the Furutech connector products mainly for reduced impedance to improve instantaneous current and also for there damping. I would not expect line noise reduction...

    Re: Furutech Nanoflux

As far as instantaneous current goes, the best analytic I have seen is the DTCD stuff that Caelin Gabriel does at Sunyatta. He certainly is a big proponent for instantaneous current and its impact on...

    Re: Furutech Nanoflux

Mike, imo its a lot more than just getting clean power at the source. I consider there to be four remaining keys to power:

    1) an overabundance of instantaneous current (i.e., over sizing your...

    Re: Furutech Nanoflux

My entire room is finally under construction as we speak.

All my connectors are the FI-50 NCF(R) with the NCF receptacles and NCF cables. I have no 20 amp connector requirements (I have all 50's...
  17. Re: Ayre KX-5 Twenty and VX-5 Twenty combo ......

Like I said--degrees of freedom! You need statistical significance before anything like that can be claimed. This is such an simple concept I must presume you just thrive on propagating irrationality...
  18. Re: Ayre KX-5 Twenty and VX-5 Twenty combo ......

So like I been sayin, why don't you mosey on back when you can prove it. Until then this is a fuster cluck.
  19. Re: Ayre KX-5 Twenty and VX-5 Twenty combo ......

Bold one: Proven is defined by the user of the word in this case. My data sample requires far more degrees of freedom; but nice try.

Bold two: Oh and the clock has nothing to do with it?

    Get...
  20. Re: Ayre KX-5 Twenty and VX-5 Twenty combo ......

To be clear, I never said he wasn't and I have made it clear to you my mountain is open for climbing comparisons when the gizmo is ready. I am a skeptical supporter, if that's possible. It's just a...
  21. Re: Ayre KX-5 Twenty and VX-5 Twenty combo ......

Re my post #91 above and JA's comment about Class D sound integration, I have said this before, but will repeat the concept because I believe it may have relevance to JA's comments: I am convinced...
  22. Re: Ayre KX-5 Twenty and VX-5 Twenty combo ......

So I went to a bar down the street last night called the Ayre. (Since this thread is about Ayre stuff I thought it would be ok to talk about here.) Suffice it to say its a very sweet watering hole....
  23. Re: Ayre KX-5 Twenty and VX-5 Twenty combo ......

Wow what happened? I had high hopes for you two. Who gets the silverware? Did you have a prenup?
  24. Re: Ayre KX-5 Twenty and VX-5 Twenty combo ......

If you listen closely you can hear the silence between pulses. At least thats my story and I am sticking to it.
