No HVAC in our 80 + year old home. Still using the original "gravity" furnace. Static, typically is an issue during the winter months. Humidity is higher during spring and summer months and not much...

It would depend on the rest of your system and what you value. If you want ultimate quiet and high resolution, SS may be the way to go. If you favor a big sound stage, tonality, "air" around...
