Re: C1000P/T Integration and Balanced Record Link

Dan.... Yes I have compared the phono stages from both the C1000P and C1000T. It is not possible to give a straight answer as both are exceptional performers in their own right. The 'P' is slightly...

Live performance, of familiar material, definitely. Purpose built auditoriums and theatres. Several venues in Melbourne and Sydney are world class. Certainly the many amazing Opera Houses of...

I'm expecting Tidal HiFi to sound better though! :)
  6. Re: Tubes vs Solid State - Are we seeing a turning point?

Simply love the Studer A726 FM tuner hooked up to the tube pre-amplifier on a good station such as Michael Buble's Smooth FM. To me sounds better than internet radio.

    The A726 is fully balanced...

Re: Studer back from sick bay

Keep an eye on the rechargeable battery soldered on the controller card. It always worries me. If it goes flat, you lose the configuration. If it leaks, it can cause damage.

    Best to keep power...
  8. Re: Tubes vs Solid State - Are we seeing a turning point?

I have had the opportunity to compare the McIntosh C1000P (solid state) and C1000T (tube) against various balanced sources. I was expecting that these pre-amps were very similar according to reviews...

Re: Analogue Productions First R2R Tapes

Great! Karen is hassling me to fulfil my next order so I will pad it with Hugh Masakela.

Not all the titles are compelling enough to want to subscribe to the set, but I will take a closer look and...

Re: New KL Audio Record Cleaning Machine

I really like the look of this unit, to plumb and pump from an external reservoir, then dump after a wash cycle.

So is everybody happy and satisfied with the level and frequency of ultrasonics...

    Re: The Mark Levinson No585!

Still love the the look of ML. I don't know if things are as good as the Madrigal days but I have fond memories of that generation and the ML33H monoblocks.

Re: C1000P/T Integration and Balanced Record Link

Correction to myself: The latest firmware disables 7T by default. It can be re-enabled. I believe it can also be re-assigned freeing up an additional Balanced input. I discovered this today. More...
