Re: MSB Reference vs CH C1.2

If I understand your original post you became unhappy when adding the CHP so going further into CHP doesn't seem to make sense to me. You should consider when you became unsatisfied and remove that...

Re: MSB Reference vs CH C1.2

Finding the words is difficult but the CHP DAC will be less analog and less warm by comparison. Neither are bad they are just different. I personally haven't heard anything to compare the MSB sound...

Re: MSB Reference vs CH C1.2

The CH would be a very Different sound than the MSB. If you like the MSB have you thought of adding a MSB amp?

I am in the camp using a preamp is better in most instance. If I'm not mistaken MSB...

    Re: Cable Discussion

When I had my second cataract surgery the doctor came out while I was recovering and said, "you were a real character in there". I didn't know what he was talking about and definitely afraid to ask,...
  5. Re: Axpona 2024: In 2023 at the Axpona Show the Minuet was constantly reviewed. What happened this year?

It's like music you're only as good as your latest hit, LOL Last year it was the minuet, this year, well, it wasn't.

I notice that each online magazine seem to have their picks or favorites they...

    Re: Clarisys - Axpona 2024

    Wow, that is crazy.

Does all the gear get shipped up and back? That must cost a small fortune.

I meant paper cones are typically more efficient.
  11. Re: Should Audio Components Sizes Be Standard?

I may not have been clear, I was sort of giving both sides of the coin. In order to make a small unit fit on a regular shelf without looking odd due to space you'd have to enlarge the chassis. This...

    Re: Buchardt S400II speakers In-Bound

Looks to be a Danish company that sells direct. There are reviews but I haven't read them yet. Look forward to your comments and how the sound compares to Dynaudio.

    One thing I found interesting...

  15. Should Audio Components Sizes Be Standard?

I borrowed this idea from Future Audiophile who ran an article on the subject, I thought it might be fun to see what you guys think.

I sort of laughed to myself when a member talked about building...

    Re: Which Esoteric amp?

    Isn't the S02 discontinued?

There are quiet fan options you could use to dissipate some of the heat.

If you have an Esoteric front end with the current drive peature you can get even more...

Congrats. First I've heard of them. I'd love to check out that amp. I'll have to research it 140 lbs seems a lot to reproduce a few watts, LOL

    Re: *NEW* Esoteric N-05XD

I would add if your friend was not using a section of the N05xd the networking and preamp section can be turned off. In my case I just use the DAC section and this is how I configured mine.

Re: To clock or not to clock?

Why would the clock not work if you use USB out from the source? I would be USB to DAC then 10 MHz connection from DAC to clock.

Bottomline the clock would not do me any good because I only have...

Re: To clock or not to clock?

The owner's manual does not. I read the G05 just this morning and it's very vague. It tells you how to hook it up and that's about it.

I'm not the OP. In my situation I only have the ACS10...
