The outline you speak of might be the silver outside of the HDMI plug?
Have you tried a cable?
HDMI goes in one way and an HDMI cable can be confused with a USB A cable.

I agree. It's similar to auto manufacturers moving the aircon controls to the touchscreen or the gear levers to a wheel-dial or buttons on the console....it's a "solution" that never was a problem.
Boulder 866 app
