  1. Re: Heads-up, changes en route: Adding AudioNet’s engineering-marvel Humboldt to the system

Congrats on the Humboldt purchases. I've owned the Stern / Heisenberg combination for a while and think is incredible. From what I heard of the Humboldt at Munich, it's much the same. I would add to...

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

If that's the end result, that would be incredible, given how good the Stern / Heisenberg is, and would make the Humboldt a bit of a bargain in high-end terms!
  3. Re: Major impact expected: AudioNet Heisenbergs approaching

Shame but probably sensible. IMHO these are state of the art, which is why I now own them (plus Stern). Comparing them to CH M1's was no contest.

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

I would put them in the following order, best to worst: L1 + X1, Stern, L1, all listened with Berning Quadrature Z's as power amps. It therefore depends on whether you think you'll end up with the X1...

    Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated

    Enjoy!

I have now purchased the Stern / Heisenberg, and my friend has got the Humboldt on home demo. There may be an outside chance of comparing back to back in the same system which would be...

    Re: Wilson Benesch and Magico

The major difference to me is that sealed box designs like YG and Magico need to be driven to decent volume levels to come alive, whilst the music flows from WB both due to being ported but also due...

    Hoping to try Riviera.

Yes a lot of deep grunt, to the point where my wife commented on it, as the sofa was shaking!

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

Yes I prefer the Stern / Heisenberg to the CH L1/X1 M1.1 monos. It's not the neutrality that concerns me with the CH, it's a lack of dynamics compared to the Audionet. Even at lower volumes, the...

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

Sorry - with regard to power amps, my comment was referring to CH, not Audionet.

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

Yes - I've spent quite a bit of time with CH. The L1 is stunning, both with and without the X1 - great flow alongside precision, detail etc. The Stern beats a bare L1 for me on soundstage - more...

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

Just posted this in the Humboldt thread regarding my thoughts after having the Stern / Heisenberg on demo for a while.

Take it as read they do detail etc as per other high-end amps, but a few...

    Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated

Take it as read they do detail etc as per other high-end amps, but a few things are standout. First and foremost is the low noise floor, which I suspect is a big driver of the other aspects that are...

I've had their Eiger bass traps on home demo for a few days, and tested both listening and measuring via REW. These are the old model with adjustments made to the frequency response as shown in the...

    Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated

I've currently got the Stern / Heisenberg on extended home demo and think they are incredible. In my system, I prefer them over CH L1 + M1.1 monos - makes listening to music much more of an event.

Re: New Wilson Benesch Resolution Speakers

    Great-looking room and set-up. Congratulations!

With regard to the Torus, it's worth noting this isn't just about bass depth - there are a couple of other benefits as well. Firstly you get a...

Re: WB ported design and other speakers

Likewise congrats on the Eminence - I too enjoyed it in Munich but too big a step up for me from the Resolutions.

    Re: Audiovector R 8 Arreté

I heard these at Munich and thought absolutely stunning.

I had extensive home demo of the top-of-the-line SR6, and loved the treble and mids, but felt the bass lacked impact and so decided they...

    Yep Kid knows his stuff.

Currently have one of Thomas's pre's in my system (a silver-wound 10Y) and is stunning. Great flow to the music.
