    3 yrs in a row in which Ayre has a different but meaningless display. Cool but misses the point. Set up the system right and let customers listen to it.

    Maybe their stuff just isn't that good....so they have to revert to gimmicks....??? Don't know.

    I've ever been an Ayre fan....especially with the big pricey stuff of late. Plus, friends of mine with Ayre gear have had some serious reliability issues of late.

    Ayre have really created fun hang out rooms. Agree that they don't lend themselves to audition the equipment. In 2012 and 2013 I visited the room and smiled and appreciated the fun but didn't stay to hang out or to listen beyond the great Ella LP (Let no man...)
    I have heard Ayre gear at the Montreal show which was excellent, though it has never tempted me.

    I enjoyed my visit with the Ayre Rep there. We talked about the latest updates to my QB-9 and especially about their view on DSD.

    Mike,
    The Betas come with a Servo control EQ unit with low pass and high pass, contour and overall low end level controls. Combined with placement. That is a lot of control. However, I also needed an MEN220 to get it right.

    Since I hadn't gone thru this thread, I didn't see the
    picture of my new table. I took home this gloss black George Warren turntable at the end of the show. A decision that took almost a year! Very happy!

    Hey Bob you do know that vin is french for wine glad to see that you are having a glass in your avatar.
    André - - - Keep it simple system
    Amp = Chord CPM-2600
    Source = Chord One
    Speakers = Acoustat 1+1s highly modified
    Life without Acoustat is possible BUT senseless.

    Indeed, not only that, my last name is 'Vineyard' which is where the vin came from, way back in my Microsoft days creating my email name. Some wanted me to go with 'bovine' but, well, you know...
