    Rmaf 2013

Booked at the Tech center for a very reasonable 95.00 a night, anyone else going?

    Re: Rmaf 2013

Went last year on my way to San Francisco and it was a great show. Would love to go back again this year if I can swing it. There are several hotels in the 10-15 min walk approx. from the RMAF site.

I prefer to stay in the Marriott where the event is held, can take breaks and not have to walk blocks to get back to the event. Also schmoozing in the lobby is fun during lunch hours and night caps.

Friday is the least crowded. And the last two years you would have been better off not buying tickets ahead of time as the pre-purchase line was much longer than for same-day sales.

The lines are never long, no matter what day you go. This is my 7th RMAF and I have never experienced long lines or trouble moving around. Like VT mentioned pre-purchasing your tickets will save you a 10 or 15 minute wait.

    Ron,
Friday has slightly less people I think. Lines are not bad except right at the opening time. Lines to wait for the elevators were a little frustrating but really, that's picky. It's really, very well organized.

You should see the elevators at CES.

Take the elevator to the top floor, and walk down to the other show floors using the fire exit stairs. The stairs are usually open at the shows.

The lines in 2010 & 2011 on Friday were ridiculous for pre-paid tickets. The line was out the door and we waited about 45 minutes to get our tickets.

I am not sure. They had the alphabet divided into 3 parts for pre-paid and one line for walk-up. I was in the middle line of the pre-paids and really didn't pay attention to the walk-up line.

The last few years it would definitely have been faster to buy your ticket the day of arrival rather than waiting in the pre-paid line. But the lines in general move pretty fast.

I plan to attend. This would be my 3rd year. And, yes, the line for prepurchased tickets was longer - silly. But, to be honest, the lines were not bad at all. I will be staying at the Marriott as well. Very inexpensive and convenient.

Definitely interested in getting together for drinks and dinner.

You should consider going, Mark. Went to the NYAS this year, heard some really impressive gear and met some good people, including Ron (roncagg) who's now part of AS!

I'm considering going to the Capitol Audio Show end of the month as they will be demoing 2 speakers I'd like to hear: Tidal and the MBL RadialStrahler (sp?) speakers. Kanso and Triode Cables are also on display as well.

    Mark,

Do it! Here is a weekend in which you can see and hear great equipment in a setting that is friendly. It is not perfect but the investment is small for the return in meeting people and listesning to equipment that is not available in most cities.

I may be flying there via Dallas. AA has a non stop that gets to Denver before noon on Friday.

I plan to leave Sunday mid to late morning. Two years ago I stayed through the day on Sunday and indeed some rooms started packing early afternoon. However, this is a good day to revisit rooms since the crowd will be much smaller.

    Hey socfan,

I think the Capital Audio Fest is going to be great this year.
I'll be in 3 locations this year with my stands. Triode Pete is going to have a Walnut stand plus 4 of my amp stands.
I'll also be in the Daedulus/ModWright room with two stands.

I'll be hanging out in the lobby with my main displays. So come on and visit...I'm a great bullshitter.

    Count me in !!
That's IF your wife is not in labor for you're 4th child By the way my friend was at the Munich 2013 show and told me that this was a show that you should see at least once in your life.
André - - - Keep it simple system
    Amp = Chord CPM-2600
    Source = Chord One
Speakers = Acoustat 1+1s highly modified
Life without Acoustat is possible BUT senseless.

    Re: Rmaf 2013

The RMAF is just a great kick in the pants. I've gone the past 7/8 years?
All years were as an attendee, but this past year as a vendor. I'll be a vendor again this year.
Even though I live in Virginia, I have major ties to Colorado...I grew up in that part of the world. Went to Colorado State U in Fort Collins. My wife has brothers/sisters in the Denver area, so we always make it a yearly event in our lives.
The show is very well run. I've met people there who are now friends for life.

I'll be doing it again this year as a vendor, but I plan on having fun. My wife will come with me, plus the real Borderdog will be there. (I pretend I'm blind and he's my service dog...LOL)

Anyways, come one, come all. It's a great time.
And of course, you have to come visit me!

Not me, I'm done with kids.
And if Mike is right the Girl could be my ending search for complete father happiness.

I really wanted to go and meet the other group that I don't know personally but I'm pretty
sure this friendship that AS help us to build that we are going to have other days or other venues.

First timers will love the easy way of RMAF, is like Santa Claus all over again for grownups.

    Enjoy !!

I agree....I am planning on the 2014 Munich show...besides, Munich is one fantastic town: great beer, architecture, churches, pipe organs, orchestras, BMW, art, BMW...alles ist AUSGEZEICHNET!!!

    Cheers,
