Klipsch Palladium P17-b Bookshelf speakers ....
I just hooked up a pair of natural P17-b speakers.
Holy cow, these are amazing! They just fill the room with sound. Wall to wall and floor to ceiling. If anyone thinks Klipsch speakers are not competitive, you are wrong :D. These play way above their price point.
Smooth, 3D, very open, detailed with tremendous presence.

Nice. Klipsch were my first serious speakers and the Klipsch forum was my true intro into the hobby. I've had many Klipsch speakers and loved most (all actually save the Heresies) with special mention to the Forte and Cornwalls. Always interested in the Palladium.

Joe
Do any of the recent three pairs have the potential to be "keepers" for awhile?
Re: Klipsch Palladium P17-b Bookshelf speakers ....
They all have potential and I think all 3 are keepers.
So far these Palladiums are knocking my socks off. The amount of investment was actually pretty low considering what I have here. I was able to score some amazing deals out of the blue.

Hey Joe, glad you like them so much! Are these the ones I directed you to which were listed on AG?

Joe,
Awesome! I really miss my RF-7 II's. When set up right, they are among the best dollar for dollar, pound for pound values that I've come across in Hi-Fi.

Yes they are the ones. The seller came down a little in price, PayPal and shipping was included. Homerun!

Sean,
I'm speechless how good these sound. I hooked up a pair of McIntosh MC75's last night, after a little warm up, OMG! Why have these been largely ignored by most music lovers?

Klipsch does not get a lot of press and seems to be considered a second or third tier brand and you will find their most vocal proponents on their own forum, or AK, both of which have largely been the homes of Klipsch fans for 15+ years instead of AS or AA.

Totally agree. I've been a fan forever but dipped in and out as I thought I found "better". Since missing my Cornwalls and obsessing about Jubilees, I've been on a mission to get back in. I'm ecstatic.

Believe me when I say that there have been many many MANY times I question why I ever felt it necessary to spend tons of money to leave a very simple and satisfying Cornwall based system (with Welborne amps, a Cary pre and rega table).
But Jubs...oh yeah. If I only had the room. Dang. There I go again with the upgrades!

My Cornwalls with my 8 wcp ASL Wave monos was wonderful. While my current Klipsch bookshelf speakers are efficient, I have to try these amps and others to see if the match/synergy is there. I suspect for low to mid/moderate volume it will be fine, but past that level, the bookshelf speakers could be difficult loads.
My Cornwalls were so clean and clear, I used to crank them and actually not realize how loud I was playing them. I had to be very careful.
Jubilees could be my destination but certainly maybe too much of a commitment.

That P17-b is one beautiful speaker. I wonder what will take it's place when they stop production?
Re: Klipsch Palladium P17-b Bookshelf speakers ....
I think the Palladiums have been long discontinued. I believe the cost of production was just too high.
