Another interesting product from BAT.
I briefly owned an earlier generation integrated a VK-300X SE and reading the review this seems like a continuation of the "house sound". With the 300X the tubes were barely noticeable. A similar observation was made with a Musical Fidelity NuVista 800 that also passed through my system at one time.
I’m still intrigued by BAT gear but I’m just so happy with my Luxman.
I would like to hear BAT. Though I've been to AXPONA several times never managed to see a room if there was one.
Love my BAT REX 2 Preamp … Now I want to hear the REX 3! All I can say is that I was on the preamp merry go round until I got my hands on the REX 2. Had the Levinson No 523, Ref 52, ARC Ref 6, ARC Ref10 (if only for a long weekend) and while all were very good at what they did … in my system I preferred the sound of the BAT REX 2. The Ref 10 actually was very similar in many ways but the REX was slightly warmer which in my system was a better match. With a different setup I could easily have preferred the Ref 10. Both are awesome! BAT makes some great gear and i’m surprised its not talked about more often. Many of my friends use their phone preamps which are awesome also!
