Are some of you familiar with Pilium Audio ?
I would be interested to learn about this Greek brand that seems to be very good competition for Audionet, CH Precision, Soulution and Vitus.

Looks amazing!!
High Fidelity
It would be nice if someone could do a shootout between Pilium Alexander-Hecules combo and Audionet Stern-Heisenberg combo.
Besides looks & power, AudioNet Heisenberg is 66kg while Pilium Hercules is 107kg.
It all comes down to your sound preference in the end.
Bob at Rhapsody Audio plans on pairing the Magico M9s with Pilium - Pilium Elektra DAC>>>Alexander dual chassis pre>>>>four Hercules mono amps, all TelluriumQ Satement cables.
I apologize, as I wasn’t suggesting that you would travel from France to NY ... I was merely attempting to demonstrate the level of quality of Pilium – that being the intended pairing with a $750,000 speaker – IMO speaks highly of the amp … Sorry to give any other impression.
I read the review, I don’t know, I wasn’t feeling it. It was sort of saying “it’s good, but not as good as...”
I’ll take gryphon or Boulder all day long myself.

I will be in unique position to do this sometime this summer. I will have Pilium in-house with Alsyvox Botticelli X, and a fellow audio geek up in Spokane has the Alsyvox with Audionet. We’ll have a chance to visit one-another and compare. I’ll do my best to report back both our opinions.
Hi Bob, so what were your finding about Pilium VS Audionet ?
I have heard the Audionet Humboldt and the Vitus SIA-030 but not the Pilium Leonidas yet.
I'd like to know what is the flavor of the Leonidas compared to the Humboldt and the SIA-030.
So far the Humboldt is my favorite super integrated but i'm sure the Leonidas is in the same ball park.
I'd like to pair one of these integrated with Borresen 03 speakers in the future.
there was some review, the writer had all 3 of them.
as far as i could get he placed leonidas and sia30 at the same level and the humboldt above.
Audionet Humboldt Integrated Amplifier - The Absolute Sound
I've got both the Audionet Humbold and Pilium Leonidas here in Stockholm. Both world class and at the very top (of course), but also rather different.
Audionet is extremely quiet, clean, fast and sophisticated without loosing the connection to the music. The fit and finish is among the very best I've ever encountered.
Pilium is harder to describe or characterize. It's just there, letting the music flow in a manner where it never draws attention to itself. It's organic, pure and very well balanced. It basically makes you forget about "how it sounds" where you can just relax for hours in front of it without ever getting the feeling that something's missing or out of place. This is a very rare quality.

marcus, thx a lot for the infos. thats more interesting than just same or better.
so, would you say the leonidas sounds more organic than humboldt?
do you also have the bigger units (achilles, hercules, heisenberg)?
Marcus, those are some great words about the Pilium. I am just getting on with Alexander and Achilles and would have a hard time describing the sound any better than you just did. I am just drawn into the music, never giving a thought to this-or-that, its just flows.
When it comes to the looks of Audionet, yeah, they’ve done a great job making audiogear look sexy, elegant, sophisticated. As much as I like the unique look of Dagostino gear, I think I would grow weary of that look quickly. Not so with Audionet. Awesome industrial design work.
Yes - I would say so.

Glad to help.
Yes.
No. I wish I did. Sweden is a small market where the integrated units discussed are very much upper end already. I will bring in one of the stereo power amps from Pilium at some point though for sure.

Sure thing.
It goes without saying that you have to listen and experience these amps for yourself. The level of ambition and target for each of them are different.
As this is indeed a thread about Pilium, please allow me to elaborate a bit about these very special amplifiers.
Pilium is an all out assault within solid state amplification. The result are seriously overbuilt amplifiers without compromise (for real this time). It’s elegant in a very discrete way but does not add anything flamboyant. The Leonidas integrated comes in at 100 kg (almost twice the weight of the Humbold btw which is already quite a piece).
Pilium has the power to put that audiophile itch to rest. It drives anything with such natural ease without drawing attention to itself. It’s this completeness that makes it so very special. Imagine the sensation when putting your head against the edge of your chair only to come back to the present a few minutes later after being totally encapsulated by the music in front of you. This is (again) such a rare thing that very rarely happens to me these days constantly listening to potential flaws and drawbacks of all of the components that I’m encountering here on a daily basis.
It’s only when you listen that you will get these kinds of revelations and insights though. You can’t dress a genuine listening experience and true emotions into words in full after all.

I heard an intergraded one at bobs place ice cold sounded great. i think it’s correct to say it was neutral in that I did not feel it had a sound in any direction.
it imaged great was fast and had a great top end
bob was kind and played a few tunes varied in genre it handled all very well. Some amps or preamp combos can be better in one genre or another this intergraded just played great music.
over the time I was there it did get even better as it warmed up. but it really surprised me how great it sounded from the first note ice cold
this alone is a great task of an amp or combo
bob is a great host as well
Thanks bob
