Does anyone know of a 3 channel tube amp?
Hello all, I'm a newbie here, I just signed up today, and I thought you people could send me in the right direction. I've always been a big fan of tube amps and I have been looking all around trying to find a place that sells a 3 channel integrated tube amp. I want to use it for powering a set of stereo speakers and a center channel. I'm going to use it to drive the sound on my computer based A/V system.Currently I'm using a self powered sound bar, but it only simulates the center channel and the voice track isn't as clear as I'd like. I could just use an A/V amp setup in 3 channel mode but I love how a Tube Amp looks & sounds and if I could find the right hardware it would make a nice addition to my system. Building it myself from a Kit would be even better. I don't need a lot of power and amps that ran a pair of 6L6's per channel and produced 30 or 40 watts would be ideal. I've looked at some single channel amps thinking of just using 3 of them but I would really like to have all 3 channels on one chassis. Does anyone know of such an amp? Scratch building one is also an option but I would need some layout diagrams along with the parts list and schematics. Paying someone to build it is also an option. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Eagle, never heard of a 3 channel tube amp.
If you properly set up you left and right speakers you may find there is no need for a center channel, I just recently did this and not looking back!

Re: Does anyone know of a 3 channel tube amp?
There was a company called Butler Audio who made multichannel tube amps. I'm not sure if just a 3-channel or much else about them. Could be worth looking into. The amps had it to where you could see the tubes and had a light to help illuminate, so I questioned how serious they were. That's just my purist snob coming out probably, LOL If memory serves they even had an auto version.
I personally thought multichannel tube would be high cost maintenance.

References to vacuum tube-driven amplifier. 150 watts x3 or x5??
Hmmm
Re: Does anyone know of a 3 channel tube amp?
I always thought Butler amps were hybrids.
Re: Does anyone know of a 3 channel tube amp?
AJ and Jack are correct, the Butler amps are definitely hybrids. A tipoff are the clearly visible internal heat-sinks for each channel, which would be for heat dissipation of their solid state output devices. Secondly, quoting from the product page: "A superlative marriage of tube and solid-state technology without the limitations of either. Literally, you get the reliable, efficient power capability of solid-state with all the greatly extended dynamics, warmth and musicality of the highest quality vacuum tube design available today."
