Stillpoints Aperture II Acoustical panels
Has anyone tried the new Stillpoints Aperture II Acoustical panels?
Re: Stillpoints Aperture II Acoustical panels
Have the original Apertures in my music room. Didn’t know there was a revision to a II series - at least not on their website.

From the horses mouth:
“The new panels have better fit and finish, also trap from larger area, but otherwise sound the same.”

They do not trap from a larger area... their "mouth" is the same height and length. The internal cavity is a little larger... that is all. This misinformation is insane

So you think whoever Myles quoted as being “the horses mouth” is insane?

This came directly from Bruce Jacobs of Stillpoints.

You still have a problem? I think you owe me an apology.
Re: Stillpoints Aperture II Acoustical panels
Bruce is a great sales guy... thats all. Again, they do not trap from a larger area, only the internal volume is a bit larger. There is a foam perimeter just beneath the cloth fabric. That foam panel opening is the same on the old and new.

Recently, Stillpoints announced the Aperture II ($800 each), which, among other things, moves the screen structure forward so that it’s flush with the surrounding wooden frame. They claim that this makes it possible for the Aperture II to capture more air movement.

I guess I should be honored. You are the first person in my 32 years of reviewing to question my honesty.
But no, it was just to show you have no idea what you are talking about.
