I suggest getting a used BAT VK-P5. If you want to use low output moving coils, add a K&K SUT.

Another for consideration is the Allnic 1201 phono. I think it retails for $2998, but you can talk to Sunil or Mark about it. Steve (Petro85) had one and loved it.

I'm not one to preach the Stereophile gospel, but why not get a Stereophile A rated ss, e.g. sutherland 20/20, nagra bps, lehmann decade at that price point, and get some tube sound from a preamp or amp.
