McIntosh C2700 Replacement
Greetings all,
I am currently powering a pair of McIntosh MC 611s with the C2700. I absolutely love the 611s for their bass/midbass performance. I would like to get a little more out of them and was thinking a preamp upgrade may be the solution. I would like the preamp to be tubes but would be open to solid state. I do prefer a warm presentation also. My shortlist would consist of the following:
VAC Signature MK IIa SE
McIntosh C12000
ARC Ref 6SE
Mark Levinson 523
I'm open to any suggestions/experiences, along with any potential synergy issues.
Thanks!

S/H C1100T or a C12000 seem like a natural choice.

Re: McIntosh C2700 Replacement
The 523 is a good preamp in general but it is not what I'd call warm, maybe slightly to that side of neutral but more, neutral. Smooth though, not analytical.
I feel the ARC house sound will change your sound a lot, not good or bad, just something to consider.
I like same brand synergy so staying with a better Mac is a safe bet. the VAC would put some drive in the system.Aurender ACS10 w/Audioquest Diamond USB, Esoteric N05xd
