Upgraded my Consonance Power Filter to Furutech
I have been on a power kick lately and decided to upgrade the receptacles in my Consonance d-Linear 15 Power Filter. Upon inspection it turns out to have Rong Feng E-09 Industrial 20A 125V receptacles, worth about $5 each. I ordered 5 Furutech GTX-D gold receptacles. I received them today after a week of burn and installed them. It was a tight fit on the bottom part so I had to put the nut on the outside for them but that shouldn't be a problem. There was enough room for them otherwise. Here are a few pics. I haven't given the system a listen yet as the Acoustats are energizing after being off for a while. I will post again with my impressions and whether it was worth the $850 upgrade.
I also was offered a good price on a couple of Oyaide bases and receptacle covers so I installed one set with the Furutech GTX-D gold receptacle I have already installed. It looks nice but I haven't listened to the system to tell if it has made an audible difference or not. Oh well, I'll never know unless I try. The brown colour on the Furutech receptacles is a reflection off of the kitchen table, the receptacles are shiny.Main 2ch/HT:Acoustat 2+2,Axiom EP500,Ray Lumley M-100, Bedini BA-803,Threshold T3,JRDG Consumate Phono, Lenco L75, ZYX Universe cart,Oppo BDP 95(transport), Calyx Femto DAC,Bryston BDP-2,Pioneer F-91 tuner,Studer A807 r2r,Consonance d-Linear15 power filter, DVDO Matrix 4x4,Mitsubishi HC-5 projector, Audience Au24e and LectraLine Xe cables,Cullen Power Distribution Box with upgraded cable

You should ask your dealer to bring the CH stuff he wants to sell you for home audition in your system. IMO there is no way to tell what will sound better in your system.
