    power DOES matter

Just now plugged in an Audioquest Niagara 1000 and Thunder power cord. i got them from Mike here at Suncoast Audio

i was skeptical, but did a ton of reading about power conditioners, and power cords. some of the noise comes from your a/c line and some comes from the components themselves! The Niagara tries to remove this noise and isolate the pieces from each other.

i played Mozart piano number 20 with Barenboim and English Chamber Orchestra. then, added the cord and conditioner.

    IT WAS NOT SUBTLE!!

    large, immediate improvement.
the violins and oboes sound VERY clear, as do the high notes from the piano.
the central image was beyond belief. there is NO sound coming from the speakers, it is hanging in space between them, with the piano on the left!!!! you can hear the low strings vibrate on the piano, and the music pauses are DEAD QUIET

my extended readings led me to believe that you might spend some of your budget on power, power cords, and connecting cable, and now, i agree.
this is my unsolicited opinion! you might try for yourself and see what you think.

happy listening everyone! thank you ALL for years of help and advice!

    best regards,
    bob
