Years ago I tried and kept Surgex power conditioners in my system being happy with the result. I'm using PS Audio on the HT end of things.

Surgex provided a quieter background and some sonic improvements.

A dealer lent me a Clarus Duet to try. The Duet has EIC to add a power cable where the Surgex is fixed. So, naturally I used a Clarus power cable.

What the Duet did was amazing, pretty much improved every aspect of my sound. Even darker background, revealing more detail, very noticeable instruments and vocals were more natural, vocals sounded organic less mechanical and more intelligible. The system is as quick and dynamic yet sounds more relaxed, yes, that's a head scratcher. At higher volume the sound stage holds together better givng an illusion of even more power, it could be the less distortion or cleaner signal makes it more tolerable at higher levels. I also gained better spacial cues and depth.

I was really amazed at the spectrum of gains just attributed to a power conditioner. The Duet was the first unit I tried in it's price. I plan to order a Concerto so I can also plug my other 2-channel unit's in.
