Tubulus Argentus XP Umbilical Cable
Anyone have experience with this as an umbilical for an XP-22 or any other Pass preamplifier in the X-series?
I am also interested in knowing about experience with Revelation Audio Labs for the Pass X-series?
Are there any other manufacturers?

Re: Tubulus Argentus XP Umbilical Cable
A number of years back I purchased 2 Revelation Audio Labs umbilicals to use with my Pass XP-30, & I continue to use them. In my particular system, they only made a minor improvement, & to me weren't really worth the cost, but others have claimed they made a substantial difference, so YMMV... If it's possible (which I doubt, since they are made-to-order) to get return privileges, you could see what you think for yourself. A heads-up: unless the construction has changed, the cables are quite stiff, especially coming out of the connectors, & I had to move my XP-30 farther away from the rear wall to accomodate them.

Re: Tubulus Argentus XP Umbilical Cable
Crumhorn,
Thank you for valuable information in several ways. I see your system should have been very revealing of any changes the umbilical made. I have so much money invested in my two systems any additional expenditures have to be worth the expense.
Stiffness of the cables would be a problem for me. I do not want to move my rack any farther into the room. It would also be a major pain to move. I plan to use the two boxes stacked so the bend in the umbilical would have to be a tight curve.Contributor to stereotimes.com

Re: Tubulus Argentus XP Umbilical Cable
The umbilical connector on XP-22 & XP-32 is completely different from those on the 20 & 30, and I think that the RAL cables for the newer models are supposed to be more flexible, but you should definitely ask if you want to try them. Some users claim they made a huge difference, & I have no reason to doubt them...

Re: Tubulus Argentus XP Umbilical Cable
They made a big difference on both of my Supratek preamps and the latest one from July does seem to be a bit more flexible than the one from two years ago. Reach out to Brad by e-mail and discuss it with him concerning your stacking arrangement. You may just have to go a bit longer to get that bend radius you want. My power supplies and control units are on different shelves so hasn't been an issue for me.

Re: Tubulus Argentus XP Umbilical Cable
I have only heard good things about the umbilical cables from RA.
About 6 weeks ago I had Brad do an umbilical cable for my Phasemation EA-1200 phono stage. Very happy and highly recommended. He even uses the custom Japanese connectors Phasemation use.

Yes, that mirrors my experience as well. That's great that Taiko has a ground terminal on it. I wish all manufacturers installed these on their components. I just remembered that the forthcoming...
