First Watt SIT-1 monos in system ....
I’ve been sitting on a used/demo pair for a while. Wasn’t sure that I wanted/needed more amps. I think I got a good deal. After some poking, prodding and shaming, I finally set them up.
Cold out of the box, a little tight and restricted. A few songs in and bias holding pretty steady, there’s something special going on. Definitely not as soft and sweet as SIT-3 (which I dearly love, love, love). The SIT-1 monos have a different presentation and oh so musical.
I have them playing through the GAT2 because that’s what was last hooked up. I need to reserve more judgement until there’s a few days of playing.

Re: First Watt SIT-1 monos in system ....
Holy cr@p do these SIT-1 amps run HOT, HOT, HOT!
I want the heat in the winter so it's a welcome addition. I'll check the amps temps with my infrared thermometer next time they are on and fully warmed up.
They are clearly different than the SIT-3 amp. The SIT-1 have a bigger wall of sound, not as warm/fuzzy as the SIT-3. I don't want to imply that the SIT-3 is without detail and clarity, but it's a more intimate sound.
The SIT-1 are very 300B tube like without some of the bloom but tons of air, dimension and smooth detail.Fleetwood Deville by Oswald Mills Audio, Vienna Acoustics Haydn Jubilee, Wharfedale Linton w/ stands, Klipsch RB-75, Klipsch RP-160M.

Nice! glad you finally were able to procure a pair. I think you will be dumping the SIT-3 shortly
The SIT-1s are the most special of the FirstWatt amps.. They were the only SS amps I've tried that nail SET holography and inner detail.Brinkmann Bardo w/ EMT HSD-006 cart, MSB Reference DAC --> Linear Tube Audio MicroZOTL --> Ampzilla 2000, 2nd Edition --> Fyne Audio F1-12

Re: First Watt SIT-1 monos in system ....
SIT1 are awesome. Huge soundstage, big sound, tons of air, amazing 3D, brighter and more open compared with SIT3, more energy, addictive listening sessions.
SIT1 draw me in and make me pay attention but also relax me and make me follow the music without really realizing how into it I’m getting. I don’t understand how and why but it’s such a shame these were limited production like all SIT amps.
Thank you Keith for planting the seed. I had no clue.Fleetwood Deville by Oswald Mills Audio, Vienna Acoustics Haydn Jubilee, Wharfedale Linton w/ stands, Klipsch RB-75, Klipsch RP-160M.

Re: First Watt SIT-1 monos in system ....
Congrats! How do they compare to the Valvets?

Re: First Watt SIT-1 monos in system ....
Valvet E2se is not as big or bold and maybe a little more reserved in comparison. Still a big soundstage but not as lit from within. The Valvet does not draw attention to itself and feels more like a typical class A amp. Since it’s near impossible to get SIT1 now, I have no reservations about the Valvet E2se. The E2se and SIT1 are more alike than the SIT3, which is more reserved and laid back but in a good way. The SIT3 is more intimate and 2A3/45 tube-like. All these amps only give 10-15 watts so careful speaker matching is important.
