Thanks for the photos, Mike! Personally, I'm really enjoying them. Just some comments: the Aavik/Borresen room was one of the standouts at AXPONA, so welcome any thoughts on the room at Munich. Also, really nice to see some photos of the Viva tube gear. I'm well familiar with that company as one of the SF Bay Area audio dealers used to carry them back in the day. Wonderful components. Cheers!

Stephen - Unfortunately, A/B not a standout in Munich.

Thank you all for the pics. Looks like a great time!

It was Jock. Lots of ground to cover with very large crowds. But, a great time.

Acoustics, like in many shows, are a challenge but those vendors that spend the time and resources prepping their rooms are rewarded with reasonably good sound.

While digital was the main source, quite a few spinned vinyl and even tape.

Also, for the most part, demonstrators were very willing to take requests.

Bottom line, well worth the trip.

Great job for both Mikes with their show coverage and pictures!

Thanks to the photographers for all these great pics and virtual coverage.

What Electronics were they using to drive the Fynes?

A fairly inexpensive tube integrated.

The new 702SP/703SP (which is basically 702 and 703 with F1 technology) were really eye openers. 703SP for $19K - launching in September was a “wow!”

Thx Stephen!

Not a full list but theses are among my favorites so far:

- MBL Extremes
- Rockport Orion w Absolare
- Living Voice
- Wilson Alexx V w Constellation
- Clarisys w Soulution
- Magico S3 (Magico room)

In terms of room sonic qualities, really depends on the effort and care demonstrators put in setting up their systems. I heard some really good rooms as well as some deficient setups.

More updates later.

While my wife and I did not listen to every system in every room, we did spend a ton of time and hit a bunch of systems over the four days of the event. To our ears and trying to keep this list very short for our favorites, we liked the MBL room (as Mike suggests above), felt that the darTZeel amps showed well, and the Dan D'Agostino Relentless Epic 800 system (they had multiple systems in the same room and alternated among them) sounded exceptional.

However, for us at this show, the Kharma Loudspeaker room was magnificent and easily the best sounding room in our opinion.

They hide those in the level 2 parking garage of the MOC. Literally 200 of them I saw like this:

I also saw a fully padded parking area. Gotta love the German’s….

Literally, I have never seen so many test cars from a manufacturer in one place as there were in Munich High End.

It was great to see and meet you in person Mike.

Great meeting you as well! And I agree, I saw like 200 camouflaged cars from BMW. Amazing. If they were Porsche’s, I probably would have missed the entire show.
