    I’m certainly happy with mine, and as anyone can see from my signature it is part of a system with a near minimum of components.

    Something not really mentioned but which I find a notable feature is using the variable volume control to slightly lower the volume of the data going into the DAC. For a lot of peak-limited music where the peaks go all the way to 0 dB, or even worse are clipped, this results in less distortion (from inter-peak overload) and slightly more tolerable sound. Of course, this is also true of the stock 205, not unique to the Modwright.

    Can you please eloborate ? You aren’t using the fixed setting when connecting to an integrated amp ?

    That is correct. Per a suggestion from Oppo, I have it at 97 (out of 100), which is down about 1 dB or so.
