Oh yes! I don't wish to condone bootlegs (or ROIOs as they're sometimes known - google it) but PF have a lot of them.

Have both the "Shine On" and the new "Discovery" boxes.

It's cool, very cool that we have fans, big huge Pink Floyd fans, and you are free to say more too; like perhaps naming your favorite album(s)?

...Or anything else that might relate to them. ...Like live experiences for example, and your mint unopened copies of the very first pressing of DSOTM & WYWH.

    * I saw them live in 75 @ The Montreal Autostadium (June 26 - Wish You Were Here Tour).
...Wow, 40 years ago already (39)!

Anyone saw them live during their DSOTM tour in 73? ...I missed that one @ the Montreal Forum (March 12).

Not my favourite but I love "Meddle" a not too talked about album. Growing up in Montreal the local news on ch12 (Pulse) used "One of these days" as their theme song. Can you remember that Bob?

Saw them live June 28 1975 at Ivor Wynne Stadium Hamilton Ontario Canada(Wish You Were Here tour). I remember it like it was yesterday. I even remember where I was sitting. It was easily the best concert I ever attended

Yeah, me too Bob I luv them all. Pink Floyd is number one 'Soft Machine' in classic psychedelic music.
...The most compatible music with the most varied drugs on the planet.

By the way, one of the band members jammed with a member of the Soft Machine band before.
    * Trivia Question: Who was he?

I just googled the Soft Machine. Wikipedia listed all of the band members including members that played with them one time or another and none of them were from Pink Floyd. The only one I recognized was Andy Summers(lead guitarist for The Police)

    CHOM-FM 97.7 on that r.a.d.i.o. dial.

On TV: "One of these days...Alice" - The Honeymooners.

    _______________

Channel 12 (CTV) - Pulse News ...From the 70s? ...Because they lasted 40 years and started in the 60s.
...Owned by the Bell Division (Canadian telecommunication corporation).

I'm trying to recoup my history, by googling and it's tough. ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CTV_Montreal
But by the mid 70s I was gone from Montreal, to Vancouver (75-76).

It's that theme song "One of These Days" that I'm trying to remember. ...From Pulse News, and a Division of Bell Canada.
It's almost like Pink Floyd took their inspiration from Canada...or the other way around.

    _______________

    _______________

I have extraordinary memories about Pink Floyd; some of them you guys wouldn't simply believe!
...Like when I was about 16-17 years old for example, and built my first ever center rear channel speaker! Yes, you read that right!
...And all because of Pink Floyd. ...Their broadcast show on TV: Live at Pompeii (1972 I believe).

Ok, I wasn't right as he wasn't with them but only jammed with some of their band members in some sessions.

I like a fair amount of PF except DSOTM. Now before the attacking starts let me say that DSOTM is NOT a bad album at all, nothing wrong with it in my view. It's just that I am so burned out on it that I can go another 5 years before hearing a single track from it again.
One of my favorite albums though is Momentary Lapse of Reason. Play that one on a good system and woohoo! It's good for demos too.

Re: Are you a Pink Floyd's fan?

Saw the original Wall concert at Nassau Coliseum back when I was in college. My drummer friend (back home) picked up 2 tickets. I think they charged the outrageous (at the time) price of $15. Wish I still had the stub. I remember seeing fans trying to scalp tickets and willing to pay "up to $50". I also remember the overwhelming sweet smell of intoxicants being imbibed. No need for smoke machines back in those days.

Saw the new version about 2 years ago back at the Coliseum. The show is so much more visual now. Now the Coliseum is famous for its bad sound, but the 3D surround sound setup they use for this show is just superb. Also saw it at Yankee Stadium last summer with my daughter (also a huge fan) and the sound was still great.

I truly adore Pink Floyd. They are my favorite band in the world. I have every Album and the Discovery CD Set.
I also love Roger Waters Solo albums and have them. Roger waters ego is as big as a house, but to me HE is Pink Floyd!
I like David Gilmour's solo albums as well and his efforts after Roger Waters left PF are amazing as evidence on The Division Bell.
Im excited as hell for this new album comming out soon!

OK; it's official. I hate you!

If I had to name, 5 concerts I wish I could go back in time and have attended; PF performing The Wall, would be one of them! (for the record, so to speak...Woodstock, LZ at MSG '73; Prince's after-show, at Paard van Troje in The Hague, Netherlands '88. And...???

As for the "new" versions, of The Wall show; IDK. I haven't been, of course...but I've seen the videos. While I know it's not the same, I can't help but recall a review I once read. The guy said...it's amazing. It takes 3 times as many peformers...to do what 4 used to; and do it half as well...lol.

You know; I never thought of it before...but they really are, almost like McCartney & Lennon. Roger Waters and Paul McCartney were the "genius", and the driving force; but John Lennon and David Gilmour are what give the work heart and soul.

And one, is not nearly as good...alone; without the other.

You're gonna hate me too. I saw the Wish You Were Here tour June 28, 1975 in Ivor Wynne Stadium Hamilton Ontario Canada. I remember it like it was yesterday

    Nah; maybe a little miffed

Don't get me wrong; The Wall isn't my favorite PF album...but it is the show I would have liked to see the most.

Didn't they only do it...in NY, LA, and London?

Buy the P.U.L.S.E. dvd set. It's The Division Bell Tour recorded live at Earl's Court, London England. The date was October 1994. It's a two dvd set and the music and light show is absolutely mesmerizing.

    Well worth the $$$
