Re: Are you a Pink Floyd's fan?
I like a fair amount of PF except DSOTM. Now before the attacking starts let me say that DSOTM is NOT a bad album at all, nothing wrong with it in my view. It's just that I am so burned out on it that I can go another 5 years before hearing a single track from it again.
One of my favorite albums though is Momentary Lapse of Reason. Play that one on a good system and woohoo! It's good for demos too.

Re: Are you a Pink Floyd's fan?
Saw the original Wall concert at Nassau Coliseum back when I was in college. My drummer friend (back home) picked up 2 tickets. I think they charged the outrageous (at the time) price of $15. Wish I still had the stub. I remember seeing fans trying to scalp tickets and willing to pay "up to $50". I also remember the overwhelming sweet smell of intoxicants being imbibed. No need for smoke machines back in those days.
Saw the new version about 2 years ago back at the Coliseum. The show is so much more visual now. Now the Coliseum is famous for its bad sound, but the 3D surround sound setup they use for this show is just superb. Also saw it at Yankee Stadium last summer with my daughter (also a huge fan) and the sound was still great.Vine, Vide, Velcro - I came, I saw, I stuck around.

I truly adore Pink Floyd. They are my favorite band in the world. I have every Album and the Discovery CD Set.
I also love Roger Waters Solo albums and have them. Roger waters ego is as big as a house, but to me HE is Pink Floyd!
I like David Gilmour's solo albums as well and his efforts after Roger Waters left PF are amazing as evidence on The Division Bell.
Im excited as hell for this new album comming out soon!

Re: Are you a Pink Floyd's fan?
OK; it's official. I hate you!
If I had to name, 5 concerts I wish I could go back in time and have attended; PF performing The Wall, would be one of them! (for the record, so to speak...Woodstock, LZ at MSG '73; Prince's after-show, at Paard van Troje in The Hague, Netherlands '88. And...???
As for the "new" versions, of The Wall show; IDK. I haven't been, of course...but I've seen the videos. While I know it's not the same, I can't help but recall a review I once read. The guy said...it's amazing. It takes 3 times as many peformers...to do what 4 used to; and do it half as well...lol.
You know; I never thought of it before...but they really are, almost like McCartney & Lennon. Roger Waters and Paul McCartney were the "genius", and the driving force; but John Lennon and David Gilmour are what give the work heart and soul.
And one, is not nearly as good...alone; without the other.CD
