I have the vinyl of this as a box set. Its scarce from what I can tell, but if you like Afro-Brazilian beats and themes its worth seeking out. Besides, Airto is a legend, I saw him back on the day with Flora Purim.

    Puroagave,

This is such a fun album. Excellent musicianship and very well recorded. I've got another album by him, but I like this one better. I've never seen him on vinyl, thanks for the heads up, I'll keep a look out for some.

On second thought, perhaps I didn't have the volume quite as loud on that first song as I do when I listen to the LP. Normally, while listening to the record, when the drums and bass engage on that song, it seems to be terrifically dynamic. Since volume plays a huge role in that, I took out my comments on the dynamic range of the CD to be fair. Volume can have a great effect on perceived dynamics.

I also do have the CD and ripped 44.1K version, as well as 192K and DSD high res files. I enjoy the 45 vinyl and 192K the most.

I forgot to mention that I have the 45rpm 2 record album and have the new 45rpm 4 record album on order. It is on the truck for delivery! Everyone who has the new one says it blows the old 45rpm version out of the water. If so, that's amazing.

This morning I awoke after an amazing two hours of sleep and put on Qobuz, "Women of Soft Rock." I'll have to put on a little something rockier later to finish waking up - like the Doors.

    80's kind of morning with
Poison - Open Up And Say, Ah
    Bon Jovi - Greatest

    Later on
Nat King Cole - LOVE. More a Jazz Swing vocal album, I enjoy it a lot.
I listened to a few tracks from After Midnight remastered, although mono the sound quality is good, has that live feel to it.

Re: What are you listening to tonight ?

    The Marshall Tucker Band

They are one of those bands that have many songs I like but not all on one album or one album I like all the way through. So I cherry picked a load and added them to my Q for listening and went with it.

Running LIke The Wind, Last of the Singing Cowboys
Silverado, Heard It On A Love Song
Can't You See, 24 Hours At A Time, It Takes Time, Cattle Drive............... etc.
    Aurender ACS10 w/Audioquest Diamond USB, Esoteric N05xd
    Mark Levinson #526, 534 & JBL 4367's
    Clearaudio Performance DC w/Maestro cart
Clarus Concerto & their Crimson cables

    HT: Marantz AV8003, Linn 5125, JBL SAM3ha, Revel s30,
    SVS PC13 Ultra
Transparent, Analysis Plus & Tributaries. PS Audio filtering
    Sony XBR-75X940D & BDP
    Parasound P6, MBL 8006b, Artisan speakers/subwoofer

Rüfüs Du Sol ‎– Solace - 2019 album of the year. Almost the perfect electronic indie pop album - Depeche Mode, Radiohead and alike could do worse than study these guys for some new but subtle ideas. SQ is superb as well.

Re: What are you listening to tonight ?

Sometimes i get tired of one composer.
Mike Oldfield was one of my idols in my youth.
And i almost forgot about him in the last 20 years. I tought he had no longer the ability to surprise me. This was until i got to know "Music of the spheres".

Can this be Mike Oldfield masterpiece?
Simply amazing, since the start till the end.
I aprecciate if someone knows what is the best recording of this album.

Re: What are you listening to tonight ?

These 2 Gems I picked up last Friday, both from my Jr High School days. Forest Green played our Jr High Auditorium and I knew the Sax player from Spaces, Don Eaton.

Both sound fabulous! Both were local to Philly bands
