Danny O'Keefe is one of those singer/song writers that has been around for decades, but never really noticed for the most part. His songs "Good Time Charlie's Got The BLues", "Magdalena" and "More Than Eva Braun" have seen there fare share of air time. I listen to his music from my saved "flac" music or streaming just because I have always liked his voice and musical timing and melodies in his songs. I found this newer 2 hour recording and started to listen. To be honest the first studio cuts I listen to sounded like a old musician cutting his old songs. They didn't have the energy of his youth and were rather dull. But, then I moved down to the second half of the song list and they were live recordings. And what do you know. If takes a live performance to bring back the energy to this old singer/ songwriter.
