Getting caught up in the same old styles over and over in online system demos and audio show rooms, with the lush female jazz vocals and big pianos and Mark Knopler guitar and crisp crackly percussion sweeping hard left and right and layer on layer on layer, I find it can be hard to remember to just go find and chill with some incredibly good music, which also happens to sound incredibly good. Great album! It's on the Cooking Vinyl independent record label based in London.
On most of these tracks, Suzanne's vocals are so vivid, juicy and lifelike, it makes me feel like I can literally get up, walk right up to her (about exactly where my TV resides, 4ft behind the speakers) and walk around behind her in the room. Even the sound stage expands beyond the front and side walls of the room a fair distance. Excellent imaging, layering and realistic spacing around the instruments.
A very well engineered album to say the least. It's quite obvious Cooking Vinyl cares about quality recordings.
Check it out! I bet you'll enjoy it.

I'm listening to this album on Spotify. I've never heard bass depth and articulation like this before, not even on SACD medium. For 320 kbps it's absolutely incredible. And my source is a Playstation 3 connected with a $10 plastic toslink!
