Grace Jones – Nightclubbing. 1981 on Island records. what a fantastic album - I had a copy, but its gonski, so had to buy a new one. This is the Euro back to black version and it sounds excellent - poly lined inner sleeves and nice quiet pressing.

Nice choice Shane. Living My Life is another good one.

I think the story goes something like this: Alfred Lion decided he wanted to sell the Blue Note label and become Jimmy Smith's full-time tour manager so that he could hear Jimmy play the organ every single night...
Great record! This and Midnight Special are my two favorites.

Re: What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?
Revisiting my favorite Blue Note release, and first ever MMJ pressing.
I love the pace and sense of urgency this album has. Tony Williams was a master in jazz drumming at such a young age. I love the flow. You can tell the musicians are somewhat free at times, while still keeping "inside" enough to call this a hard bop session.

Paul Weller – True Meanings. new album from Paul that I resisted buying as it was too expensive - finally caved and really enjoying. a more introspective acoustic guitar lead feel. very good.

Seriously man, how hard is it to just make records like this every time? Recorded in 2015 with proper equipment and it sounds SUBLIME!

I would agree... but after hearing it on a great system it's like bringing Satchmo back from the dead for an appearance in your room which is priceless! :exciting:
Also a relative bargain if you consider the cost of a quality mastered reel to reel tape.

I heard this album on a very nice system, what you said is exactly right. So, I guess if you think of it in that manner, you are totally correct.
Anyone own the multi track 33 version of this album, is it really that much worse in SQ than this two track 45rpm version?

Dead Can Dance – The Serpent's Egg. original 1988 UK release, MPO pressing. beautiful album and remember buying this from Phantom records in their 4ad section back in the day.
Most audiophiles might not know this exists as it was not reissued by Mofi

Nice story telling about his co-collaborators, Rudy van Gelder, Freddie Hubbard, Paul Chambers, Louis Hayes, Donald Byrd, Art Taylor, Jimmy Cobb etc.
This is really a Jazz bible, hugely productive year for Coltrane. Similar to van Gogh, who’s active period lasted only for ten years and resulted in about 8K paintings.

What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?
And here’s some news for the vinyl dissers: Some worry about the decreasing number of audiophiles, as there appear to be less gearheads among younger generations.
However, shopping for vinyls on Friday while waiting for my daughter to finish school, there were a bunch of other guys sifting through the vinyl section. My guess is, that all of them were under 30.
Vinyl is saving the world after all [emoji3].

One record at a time...
Yes, it’s great to see and no, it’s not a “fad” as some of the curmudgeons like to proclaim, unless you consider a fad something that only lasts 120 years. To be fair, vinyl was near death in the late 90’s early 2000’s. That I will admit. I remember my wife and others teasing me about “still having a record player.” But once I put on my original DSOTM or Fleetwood Mac Rumors or whatever, there was never a doubt.
You know, I bet vinyl was what got most of us into high end audio. It wasn’t 8 track or cassette I’m sure.

What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?
One of my favorite Anthony Wilson albums: The Anthony Wilson Trio/ Our Gang.
Excellently recorded and mastered as a HQ 45 rpm vinyl.
On this album Anthony also partly plays the incredible Monteleone Radio Flyer. Yours for a meager $85K, if you have some loose cash lying around. And happen to find one.
