    One more bass and piano with good SQ.

    Michael Moore and Bill Charlap

    The relaxed landscape of this CD, recorded live as part of Concord's Duo Series, is drawn with the first track, when Michael Moore bows the head of "I Remember You" on his sonorous, 200-year-old Tyrol bass until Bill Charlap arrives, bringing the perfect complement in his light, delicate touch as the two swing the tune around. This balance of colors -- together with the empathic duo work of two masters, each with a flawless internal clock -- characterizes all that follows, whether it's bop or ballad, show song or Ellingtonia, or a jaunty antique like "Ain't She Sweet" or "Limehouse Blues." In general, this is a sunny bunch of tunes, cooked over easy. Highlights include "If I Loved You," with Moore again bowing warm, but never schmaltzy and with Charlap's entrance turning it into a gentle bossa; Moore's own lovely "The Old New Waltz," with its echoes of Bill Evans; and the witty romp on Benny Goodman andCharlie Christian's rarely heard "Seven Come Eleven." The 14 tracks are short, none longer than five minutes, and the inclusion of the Mahler seems an odd, recital-ish choice, but things get back on track with a merry chase after "Cottontail," and wrap with a warm reading of the beautiful "Deep Summer Music." This is a spare and sparkling little gem, full of feeling, and perfect for going through the papers on a rainy Sunday morning.

    surprising type of music but top SQ. They go from strength to strenght ;
    As long as music has existed it has been known to have spiritual and even healing powers.
    The group Space Master Silence was started as a musical search party, traveling headfirst into the uncharted land of music, emotion and spirit.

    The music on this album introduces a relative new instrument, the PANArt hang, an instrument with unique sonic qualities.

    I find it a perfect companion to the Khan album.

    The Khan album is meditation music with a beat While SpaceMasterSilence has more emotional depth and I have fallen completely in love with the sound stage, so warm and inviting.

    Greetings,

    I want to thank and appreciate A.S. for posting the tip for Al Gromer Khan. This artist has the inspiration that allows the music to point to the silence. Very few artists do so.

    I would add to that space with Peter Gabriel's Passion: Music for The Last Temptation of Christ

    Here is one more artist getting his inspiration from silence, especially track 11 ''Krakow'';
    "Silence is the most important part of my music making.
    Silence is there, foregoing every first note I play.
    Silence being the place for inspiration.
    Silence which lets me start each piece of music as a child hearing it for the first time.

    Mahler: Symphony No. 1 ~ Michael Tilson Thomas / San Francisco Symphony, on SFS's own label

    Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade, Etc. ~ -José Serebrier / London Philharmonic, on Reference Recordings

    J.S. Bach: Motets BWV 225-30 ~ Rene Jacobs / RIAS Chamber Choir, on Harmonia Mundi

    LUX AETERNA -Requiem & Messe cum Jubilo ~ The Gents, on Channel Classics

    Rutter: Requiem; Five Anthems ~ Timothy Seelig / Turtle Creek Chorale; Women's chorus of Dallas, Reference Recordings

    Carols From the Old & New Worlds ~ Paul Hillier / Theatre of Voices: Paul Hillier, on Harmonia Mundi France

    Carter: Clarinet Concerto · Symphonia ~ Oliver Knussen / BBC Symphony Orchestra, on Deutsche Gramophon

    Beethoven: The Middle String Quartets ~ Tokyo String Quartet, on RCA Red Seal

    Early Music (Lachrymæ Antiquæ) ~ Kronos Quartet, on Nonesuch

    Kind Of Blue ~ Miles Davis, on HD Tracks 24/192 hi-rez

    Stravinsky: The Song Of The Nightingale, The Firebird, Rite of Spring ~ Eiji Oue / Minnesota Orchestra, hi-rez, Reference Recordings

    ~ Bill

    Yes. Volker Lange of Lutz Precision who originally was producing these is now selling these through Horch House.

    Tapes are excellent, but so are the vinyl which i got just a few weeks ago. I had several older pressings and i like the new set better. Tape can be found via Volker Lange now through Horch House.
