This is a new to me artist who has blown me away and has given me hope that the music industry will let truly talented people come to the fore still despite of the top 40 formulaic highly processed BS we are served up for our musical fare these days. The guy can play the git-tar and sing! Not an iota of processing, autotuning, or any processing of any kind. Just a man and his guitar. I found him on YouTube and am going to buy all his CDs. As with many young artists, it seems he got his notoriety via YouTube views and then won a Blues competition in Memphis and he's been off to the races since. Check out some of these videos if you are interested in a bluesy/country/folky sound that has a genuinely emotional core to it...

Broken Man:

Wagon Wheel:

Coal Mining Blues:

Cyril

I own most of his catalog and he is excellent. Got a lot of exposure last year touring the West Coast with Beth Hart. Touring with her again this year too plus opening some shows for Buddy Guy.

Cyril, thank-you very much for posting this, like his talent very much.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Jack...which albums do you have/recommend? I saw 3 or 4 on Amazon. I was going to buy all of them.

Kev...my pleasure. I was really impressed so thought I'd share it with folks here.

Cyril

I own

Honest Man
Live at the Phoenix Theatre
Weightless
Second Time Around
Coal Mining Blue

If you liked the sparse man and his guitar of You Tube you will like Live in Phoenix. Of the studio albums my favorite is Second Time Around. All recorded by a small independent Canadian label so not up to the sound quality of the best studios but still good enough to let his talent shine through.

Anytime Cyril. My wife is a big Beth Hart fan and she suggested we give him a try after she found out he was touring with Beth. She was right an undiscovered talent in the US.

Man I'd love to see this guy, Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa in a gig.

I ended up ordering all his albums. I have just one Beth Hart album. I'll check out more of her stuff.

Cmalak,

He touched my soul and brought tears to my eyes. I emotionally connected with him through his voice like few have ever. Would love to hear him on DSD at any level.

Thanks for sharing!

Mack...that's what got me. He's a got such an amazing and emotional voice. It's one of those voices that has life's experiences etched all over it. I am glad you enjoyed it. I am looking forward to receiving all the CDs I ordered

I have heard him live several times very good great voice I have one Lp

Garth...very cool. I am going to keep an eye out for him from now on and check him out whenever he's in the greater Boston area. Would love to see him live. It seems the best way to experience his music. Some artists get auto-tuned to death and sound way better on their studio albums vs. their live shows. From the YouTube live gigs I've seen, he seems amazing live
