I love to listen to eclectic music when ...

I’m surfing on the computer, doing some work, hanging out or even sleeping. I’ve been getting into some downtempo chill, SomaFM groove salad, Radio Paradise Mellow mix, RadioTunes New Age or Relaxing Ambient Piano and other crazy music.

I know this is probably TMI and some wouldn’t admit to some of their crazy music habits. I have to say listening to this stuff on my Avantgarde can almost be spiritual.

When the right tunes come on, OMG, I’m enveloped in the music. It’s a great way for me to unwind and relax. I’m not a huge TV or movie person, sometimes I’m sort of watching the TV with the sound off and stereo on.

Of course there a lot of “conventional” music playing but I’m enjoying the weird stuff too.

    What do you enjoy?

Re: I love to listen to eclectic music when ...

I run the stereo on Tuesday and Friday night, and listen to downloaded files, or ripped CDs. For the last year or so I have been on a Metal spree, and buy 2-3 downloads from HDTracks each week. At 71 I wonder when I will get tired of music, but not yet so far. I have been listening tonight for over 3 hours, and expect to go another 2-3 hours before I get the urge to take a break.

I listen to a vary wide variety of music and listen more than watch TV. TV is mostly news and late night shows like Cobert. I listen whenever I have the time.

I like some Dead Can Dance, Dillerium, Crystal Method, B-Tribe.When I listen to things like you mention Joe it has to keep my attention, not be too repetitive.

I listen to a wide variety of Rock, including Metal, I like some Pop, a lot of Jazz, even more classic Country, literally anything if it's good. Not so much into Rap or Opera

I agree, some of the weird stuff can drone on and actually be annoying. Good choices there. Thanks.

I got into Zhu about a year ago. Something about his style of EDM is appealing to me. I listen to it when I’m cleaning the house or hanging out having cocktails with friends. It’s good background music.
