Cream’s BBC Sessions: Proof The Trio Were Rock’s Greatest Live Act

I was a big fan back in the 1960's. Three very talented musicians. Eric gets much of the credit, but Jack and Ginger were just as important. Jack revolutionized the electric bass for rock bands. He often played the lead while Eric played rhythm. He influenced many bass players including John Entwistle. It really takes strong players to make a rock three piece work IMO.

And then there was ginger, who revolutionized the drums for rock bands and others. Tragic loss (although he was a nut, tormented by many demons by all accounts). Having owned a few horses, I know he was a bit financially tormented as he owned dozens of them (and shipped them all around the globe etc).

Ginger was a great drummer. Seemed to be a short temper type. Wanting to beat up Jack probably contributed to the band's demise. It is my understanding the reunion concerts at Royal Albert were to help Jack with his finances. Ginger also got the same payday and promptly spent it on horses and horse racing.
I saw them at winterland back in the late 1960's. All I remember was they were very loud and each more defined than on the albums. I later saw Blind Faith which could have been a more complete band since Winwood was a accomplished musician and songwriter.
