    Chesky Records

I must say that these are the most well-recorded recordings of anything I've ever heard. I stream via Tidal and Spotify. Unfortunately I don't think Chesky recordings are on Tidal. If you have Spotify search for Chesky Records and go to one of the playlists. There's one created by Chesky Records which has over 4,000 songs on it. Search for an artist or genre of music and play away. The secret sauce, apparently, is his recording with just one tube mic. Just beautiful sounds; it brings out the best of your equipment. Listening with my Quad ESL 57s restored by Electrostatic Solutions and a Melody Valve 300b tube amp. Just simply superb. I can't recommend these recordings enough!

    Chesky is great.

For classical the German Tacet label is incredible. Tube mikes, analog warmth, stupendous recording talent.

Mapleshade Records is very good for some lesser known talent jazz and blues but recorded on 2 track tape and no eq, overdubs. Analog warmth and soundstage as wide and deep as your system can do.

    Re: Chesky Records

I discovered Chesky and Mapleshade in the early 90's when I began my audiophile journey. To this day, I have not heard better sounding recordings in any format. They are my go to choices for demo's on my gear.

    Re: Chesky Records

Chesky is one of the pioneers in audiophile recording.
I think the younger labels doing and such an excellent job in recent years like the completely phase coherent One Mic recordings from
    Sound Liaison Music Shop

or the Reference Recordings with Doug Macleod; Doug MacLeod :: Artists :: Reference Recordings

or even getting Blue Note to occasionally return to an "older sound'' like on Gregory Porter's - Liquid Spirit, has a lot to do with Chesky's influence.
