Interesting that Jeff is still using his laptop via USB rather than a dedicated Roon Server. He is also still driving the amp via the DAC's pre-amp rather than a separate pre-amp.

Very similar to his previous Solution setup where he used the 560 DAC w/volume control right into this Soulution stereo amp.

Interesting he went with the Powerbase instead of the base Premier.

Also not using a preamp, but that's a Jeff thing. I tried the volume control once again on my Premier for another reason and still doesn't sound as good as having a preamp in the chain. Believe you need Ref or Select to have a chance to dismiss a component.

Yup. Still ridiculous given his originally stated goal. But it shows how hard it is to go low budget after having no budget.

The $122K was the sum of the list prices, including the $44K list for the Boulder 2060, which he got 'pre-owned' for $14K. So even if he paid list for everything else, the real total was under $100K.

i could be very happy with that system. and it really does look great. except for the trivial monthly cost of streaming it includes all the music you will ever need.

    Mike, I agree.

It’s a well thought out smartly pieced together system.
