Day in and out I tell people quit Fing with power cords and have someone like me address your power from the utility to the rack. And do people rattle my phone or PM me to understand how to do it right. NO. They go and spend more than what I cost on another cord from the wall to some individual component.

I wish the MSB guys would start talking about firmware/sonics/stuff that is going to take MSB to a new level of sonics....taunting their factory updates and capability to carve up aluminum is getting tired...there hasn't been a firmware improvement for the S II in a year...and its far from flawless

As a dealer, I always discuss power from the utility to the rack with customers, but what we face is a customer who says they would have to literally tear down walls and rip up ceilings (such was the case for my system at home, but I did it about 10 years ago). The other constant ongoing battle is the discussion you will have with the electrician. They love to argue about how a separate panel box, dedicated 20 amp lines, all run the same length is completely unnecessary.

There is a lot more to it than a dedicated run. Yesrerday I got into my power again and I now have my voltage potential between my neutral and ground at 0 at my equipment cord socket. I have never heard the noise floor so low before. It was a bit noisy in my house, but ear to the speaker there is nothing.

Working at Ultrafast Eds house on Friday, I had to reinstal some adds I put in. . His shop electricians came to help drive ground rods. I'm old. Let them do that. Anyhow, they did not understand some of what I was doing and ripped out my wiring. I got my meter in the panels and showed Ed where things were at. I then rebuilt his panels as I saw fit. Then put my meters back in. I can clearly demonstrate how a standard NEC approved panel install is not so good for audio. Great for your home or business. Just not designed for audio.

And yes, at times you need to put access holes in walls and ceilings. Patching and painting is not a lot of money. Less than the price of 1 Shunyata best of their brand cord.

I have also determined I don't like Romex. It does not have good geometry or metal or something. It works for budget systems. If your building a room, do not use 10 awg romex.

I continue to be delighted every time I listen to my Select 2 DAC. I have thought about purchasing the Pro USB Module but I’ve been so pleased with the sound quality and performance of the Renderer V2 Module, I feel no compelling need to make the change. Terrific detail with the Renderer and IPad adjustment through Roon of the Select 2 DAC’s analog volume control. The Select 2 and Renderer V2 are an amazing piece of engineering!
