Trung, I never watch TV, ever! ...I don't have cable, no satellite, no connection, nothing!
... And like that for the last twelve years or more.
I only watch Blu-ray movies, and BD music video concerts (very very rarely DVDs, and I must have 4,000/5,000 DVDs).
If I need the news, or intelligent documentaries on nature and new technologies, or around the globe cool things, and bad things too; I got my PC.

Re: What are you watching?
I did re-watch 'Amadeus' on Blu-ray last night, just like I said I would.
And it was even better than what I said yesterday.
Let me put it this way very simply to you gentle folks of the AudioShark forums.
If you truly value first rate classical music (operas and all) like me, and also the original venue where Mozart himself conducted Don Giovanni opera back then (same hall), splendid costumes and colors and extravaganza entertainment of the highest auditory and visual caliber, then you'd better get this Blu-ray movie.
It is essential in any serious music and movie lover library.
This is what Movies & Music are all about.
I have the DVD, and the Blu-ray; and the BD is vastly superior; audio and video wise.
Plus the BD is only $15 or so at some places (it's a Digibook too, and with a separated second disc, a CD music only).
You don't need a 500-foot screen to watch it, and you don't need a five million dollars surround sound system to listen to it either.
All you truly need is to get the Blu. ...And that is all.
And if somehow you don't fully grasp my drift, and that you are not totally convinced, I will refund you the price you paid for that Blu-ray title, and you still can keep it!
Just buy the damm thing, and climb higher on the happiness ladder of your senses.
Fifteen bucks only, not like five hundred thousand bucks!
I could probably write five books about it, but I'm going to use only five words instead:
"Magnificent, Full, Tender, Funny, Charming." - Roger Eberts
...And only one word from my own brain: Soulful.Last edited by NorthStar; May 10, 2013 at 12:03 AM. Reason: typodon g

2. This Blu is not the best looking one around, but it still beats my previous two DVD versions: the first one a non-anamorphic version (ouch!) and the second, anamorphic (better).

Re: What are you watching?
We watched this movie tonight!!!
From Amazon.com
"Hard to believe that Erskine Caldwell's God's Little Acre was, for years, the bestselling novel ever published. This 1958 film adaptation gives little reason for that status, being a curiously inert combination of sweaty Southern passion and rustic comedy. Thanks to director Anthony Mann's exacting eye for outdoor photography, the film is a pleasure to look at, and Elmer Bernstein's score makes it swell to listen to. Robert Ryan, always good at obsessives, plays a patriarch convinced gold is buried on his farm. He's aided by a gallery of future TV stars: Tina Louise (Gilligan's Island) as the lip-lickin' sexpot every living male tries to seduce; Jack Lord and Vic Morrow as her husband and brother; Buddy Hackett as a would-be politician; Michael Landon as an albino (thus giving new meaning to the term "white trash"). This gumbo has some fun flavors, but they don't quite blend." --Robert Horton__________________________________________________ _____________________________________________

* Interesting; I was watching this Great Classic Western last night when suddenly (near the mid-point), we lost power here in my area.
...So I went outside, at night, and lighted a smoke. ...I was in a field of darkness illuminated by the moon, no man-made lights, and only the noise from the horses' tails across the field. ...Finished my smoke and the power came back just as I entered my palace.
...Then I simply proceeded to pursue the second half of that great movie.
At no point I panicked or was upset; to the contrary, I was perfectly and comfortably numb during the entire evening. ...Power and no power.
* True, the thought did cross my mind; "can us North Americans live without power (electricity, computers, TVs, audio sound systems, etc.)"?
Of course we can; it's only a question of adaptation, which is one of man's attribute.~ Bob ~
