USS Indianapolis - What a story, if new to you. The US Gov totally screwed this boat of sailors and court-martialed the Captain to save face. These are the heroes that took the bombs abroad that were used to bomb Japan and end the war. After being torpedoed and sunk, the survivors floated for days before the remaining alive were rescued. The sharks were about the worst of the ordeal besides the injuries, no food or water and very few life rafts. I guess I am not really shocked that these poor guys were left hanging.

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy 2 with my kids. 4k blu-ray looks and sounds unbelievable. The movie is pure crap though.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Baby Driver - This was one big surprise of a movie. The Soundtrack is one of the best I have heard in a movie for years. A young guy gets sucked into the mob as a driver for jobs. The driving is on par with the Fast and Furious flicks. Lots of action and shooting, but if you watch carefully, and listen, the Music flows with the Movie and this is both the first time I have heard Hocus Pocus by Focus let alone having shots from a gun fight timed perfectly with the music....then it morphs right into Radar Love. I may watch this again for the music.

    Road To Perdition.
The movie is palpable with attitude & values as old school meets the new generation of deceit & dishonesty. Set in the time when the Tommy gun ruled, you won't experience a better Tom Hanks performance where less is more. He must protect his son, that has accidentally observed what his father does for a living....

"Perdition" was great. I watched a tearjerker last night with the wife, "Wonder," which was wonderful if one is the mood for an emotional film with great characters.

What was the last movie you watched?

Just rewatched Interstellar last night. What an epic movie with another fantastic Hans Zimmer score. My wife and some friends don’t think much of it but I really enjoy it (it doesn’t always have to be a 10/10 to like and enjoy, IMO).

This scene is intense and one of my favorites (Warning: Spoilers):

Was looking for something to laugh at as few movies, if any in today's Hollywood can make me (or anyone for that matter) laugh except for those in Hollywood that thought it was funny.

Started going back and decided to watch, what IMHO, is one of the funniest movies and Albert Brooks funniest movie:

    Lost In America

To me, it is a timeless plot based on the what can go wrong will go wrong mentality.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Action Point - A decent Johnny Knoxville romp based on a real crazy theme park in Jersey called Action Park. Unsafe rides, underage employees, beers flying everywhere. The story is told with JN as the Grandfather telling his granddaughter how it all played out.

Here is the wiki page about the real place
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_Park

Edit-wow, that was odd, clipboard concatenated a link plus an earlier copy

My wife is traveling for work and let me know she won’t be home tomorrow, as originally expected, but rather Sunday. I think I’ll walk next door to the theater and see this this weekend. I enjoy most of Tom Cruise’s action movies (definitely Collateral).

A Star Is Born - First time in a while I’ve seen a movie in the theaters. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Sicario: Day of the Soldado - I really loved the first one (own it) and also really enjoyed this sequel. Wished I would have seen it in theaters.

I watched Alpha the other day. It looked promising, plus I'm a sucker for anything prehistoric. But it turned out to be almost amateurish. A very basic story, poor acting, and modest production value. Shame.

A horrifying but well done movie about the terrorist attacks in Norway (2011) that left 77 dead, 69 of them teenagers. Some scenes are graphic and hard to watch.

Just returned from seeing "Green Book". One of the more enjoyable releases this year. Both Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen give very entertaining performances. Yes, it is a bit predictable yet it keeps you interested throughout.

Have to agree Hell or High Water and Hostiles both good movies. Looking forward to Rocketman. Can't wait for Lawrence of Arabia in 4K

Last two films other than series: Arctic, Never Look Away. Both really good films. Also looking forward to watching Rocketman.

My wife have seen The Kitchen and Blinded By The Light this week.

The Kitchen was enjoyable but couldn’t really solve the dilemma of Melissa McCarthy’s
dimples killing people. Lots of people died.

Blinded By The Light is about a Pakistani boy who is inspired by Bruce Springsteen’s lyrics. Loved the music and loved the movie. What’s not to like about Bollywood meeting Asbury Park?

What was the last movie you watched?

Little to no time for movies, but did finally see Queens Bohemian Rhapsody, 3 times over a few weeks, then Motley Crues The Dirt, 3-4 times - so I guess I make time if I feel a movie is worth it.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Just returned from seeing "Once Upon A Time in Hollywood". I'd give the movie a C. I am not really sure what the goal of the film was. It was a pretty slow moving 2 hours and 45 minutes. There was about 45 minutes of entertainment in the whole picture and it wasn't the part (about 8 minutes) with Tarantino's typical gratuitous violence.

'The Red Sparrow' for the second time. The book and its two sequels of the trilogy are great.... as is Jennifer Lawrence as Dominika in the movie. It's amazing how much they packed into the first few minutes, although maybe tough to follow if you haven't read the book. The author (retired CIA) really knows his stuff. His descriptions of street survelliance scenes in his book are memorable.

This was my first time to see this movie. Daniel Day Lewis was in top forum. This picture won best costume and DDL was dressed to the 9s in every scene. There was a small amount of stick with it to the movie but for the most part this is a hold you in it movie all be it slow. The ending is abrupt. This is definitely not an action Jackson movie. I would rate this movie 8.5 to 9. The car by the way is a Bristol 405 not a Porsche which is what I thought it was.

The music was well done. A lot of dialogue with no music sound quality was very good.
All in All this was decent movie.
