Fantastic pictures - thanks for sharing these!

Here is a new review of the Elyse DAC from the UK's Hifi Wigwam: Modwright Elyse DAC

I was able to do some extensive listening of both the Elyse DAC and the new ModWright PH150 phone stage at RMAF and they are both outstanding!

One of the major reasons I ordered a MW Sony HAPZ1-ES is the excellent Elyse and PH150 reviews since they have the same new transformer coupling design.

I have the ModWright Elyse DAC, and it is awesome. I have had Burmester 089, GNSC Wadia S7i, Marantz's and McIntosh MCD500, and the Elyse blows them away. I also tube roll, and currently using Siemans CCA's and Philips 5aU7 rectifier. I look forward To ModWright's new tube amps. I started with ModWright Tubed 95, then 105, and now the Elyse. Each step up has greatly helped my enjoyment and emotional connection to the digital format. Even the "lowly" CD sounds great through the Elyse. I bought a new (in storage) Esoteric Dv-60 as transport, and also a used Exemplar Oppo 93. The Elyse with it's own word clock and other internals, made the transport used irrelevant. I just sold the Esoteric. I also use the Elyse's USB input with my Macbook Pro to listen to Spotify.

I've gone though quite a few high end DACs until I settled on the Elyse. I fell in love with the musical quality it added to my system instantly. Other products might have better specifications in some regards but there is something about this DAC that puts music back into anything digital sent to it. I hope Dan takes the USB input to the next level someday? Maybe an XMOS XU208 board for example?

I think Dan's best plan should be to just add an I2s interface and not try to keep up with all the monthly USB advances. But then an external USB interface may not have one of his most excellent power supplies?
