I think that the Video world has always been based on objective measures of performance, agreed to by experts and published as a standard. That includes the development of perceptual audio and video coders. (ex:mp3) Granted that has been fraying a...

Thank you. I consider the D-08u very very “vinyl like”/analog, even more so than the new D-10x, which is excellent in its own right and offers some advantages over the D-08u. However, the D-08u via USB didn’t shine as much as the D-08u with...

I think the thing to do with old CD’s is the same as what you would do with a paper phone book, or other relics from a bygone era. :)

UPS and Fedex have weight limits of 150 pounds, but here’s the issue:
Drivers are hired to lift up to 75 pounds. Anything over this and you risk them kicking it off the back of the truck.
Strap to pallet. Use freight.

The REASON is that US government regulations don’t allow wood over any piece of equipment for CSA safety reasons. Japan apparently isn’t concerned.

We’ve noticed a bigger increase in performance using Roon. It went from a 7/10 to maybe an 8/10, while TAS remains a strong 10/10 for Sonics.
